yu wenzhou has the biggest brain and the biggest- wait neverrmind

anyway, he’s not saying he set this whole thing up so he can sit back and hear huang shaotian talk uninterrupted to his heart’s content. but he’s not not saying it either

pretty soon the other teams ask to start borrowing huang shaotian so they can implement the same press conference strategy of ‘ask the good questions or get huang shaotian talking for four hours.’ blue rain charges a fee but that doesn’t deter the outpouring of requests.

“i can’t believe you’re selling me!” huang shaotian teases, each and every time before he’s shipped off to help another team manage their press conferences.

and every time, yu wenzhou kisses his forehead and responds, “go talk as much as you want, i’ll be watching. be good.”

(and yeah they usually have to leave some time between this particular routine and whenever huang shaotian’s flight is, because they get very distracted and by that i mean naked distracted.)

huang shoatian rushes back into the hotel before yu wenzhou can catch up and he’s flashing his ring around, because that’s his new favorite hobby, but what he doesn’t expect is for sun xiang of all people to glare at him. 

why is sun xiang glaring? has he decided he’s going to go back to being an asshole again? huang shaotian replays the last several weeks of competition and he can’t think of anything he might have said (other than the usual) to prompt this kind of rude response.  

and sure it’s not like they’re friends, even though the guy has become a lot more bearable lately. huang shaotian doesn’t deserve to get glared at after just getting married. has he mentioned he just got MARRIED. he has a HUSBAND. hello, where are his congratulations, he’s waiting???

and then yu wenzhou walks in with a matching ring, it all get resolves that huang shaotian had not in fact ditched his longtime husband (yu wenzhou) for a new husband (yu wenzhou)

SS has me suffering, ngl. But I think that's partly just bc I am suffering quite apart from SS. SS is just an unfortunate casualty. :(

oh no! that sucks i’m sorrry you’re struggling ughhh.  i hope life stuff gets better, it’s so hard to write and do fun hobby things with other stuff is a mess :(

I *love* that in the donghua Ye Xiu is like, no, it's great that your hands are so slow, or else nobody else would ever fucking win anything ever.

one of my favorite bits of the novel is early on, when zhang xinjie is trying to figure out who lord grim is. he’s only willing to consider active pros (so ye xiu isn’t on the list yet) and he’s so baffled because the conclusion he draws is that it’s really only yu wenzhou who has enough knowledge of every single class to pull off unspecialized. but at the same time he’s like wait no, he can’t physically move his hands fast enough to play like that.

YES I WANT THIS SO HARD                            

I KNOW RIGHT. i wish i knew anything about what combinations of classes make a good team and how fights work so i could write the sun xiang goes to thunderclap fic. but let’s be real, the fic would probably end up just being about xiao shiqin coming home like “hi fam i’m back and you’ll never guess who i eloped with!”

also i love the thought of sun xiang watching xiao shiqin lead a team in a situation that isn’t rife with adversary and stress and politics. at excellent era, he was always scheming and walking a very fine line but thunderclap is completely the opposite. xiao shiqin can just stand up there and say what he thinks. it would be so different and so cool!

also the sex is great.

Bao Zi's fascination with star signs and shit gives me LIFE. I don't even, but I-- I just love it, haha.
