It really, really irritates me when I tell someone I’m not comfortable with something, they say they understand, but then they go ahead and do it anyway! This applies to anything really, not just roleplay, but I see it a lot here and it drives me mad! Just the other night, I told someone that because of the nature of one of their muses I wasn’t comfortable roleplaying with them (that character), and then the next day, I posted an open starter and they replies to it with that character. Really? That’s so rude. Don’t make me the bad guy.
Since a bad experience shipping my character, I haven’t been able to let anyone else get close to me or my muse.
There are people I role play with because they are good role players but I can’t stand their real personalities. Some of them are just nasty but they write their characters well so I put up with it.
I don't actually find it fun to roleplay in just one fandom, but it seems like whenever I try to interact with another fandom I like, it's always the assholes I meet and get discouraged by. I still like those fandoms and I know there's good roleplayers in there somewhere, but just too many stuck-ups and bad-mouthers make it hard to want to roleplay with any characters.
I feel like I was used by one of my former partners just to get close to another partner. But I don't want to say anything to my other partner, because I don't want to start drama. Partner A and I had multiple threads at one point, but they've all since been dropped, and they haven't responded to any of my attempts to get things restarted - and it's been months now. Meanwhile, they've been very active with person B.
