With this simple smoker recipe, savor the flavor of homemade jerky that is savory and smoky. Ideal for adding to your favorite dishes or as a snack!
Ingredients: 2 lbs lean beef sliced into thin strips. 1 cup soy sauce. 1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce. 1/4 cup honey. 2 teaspoons black pepper. 1 teaspoon garlic powder. 1 teaspoon onion powder. 1 teaspoon liquid smoke. Wood chips for smoking.
Instructions: In a bowl, mix soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, honey, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and liquid smoke to create the marinade. Place the beef strips in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the beef, ensuring each strip is coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight. Preheat your smoker to 180F 82C and add wood chips for smoke flavor. Remove the marinated beef from the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature. Place the beef strips on the smoker racks, leaving space between each piece for proper air circulation. Smoke the jerky at 180F 82C for 4-6 hours, or until it reaches your desired level of dryness. Rotate the racks and flip the jerky strips halfway through the smoking process. Once done, let the jerky cool completely before storing in airtight containers.
