Today, Charlotte’s two Republican city councilmen wrote a letter to Thom Tillis, speaker of the North Carolina House. The thought process is a little If-This-Then-That, but we think we’ve deciphered it:

Democrats on Charlotte’s city council raised taxes.

You should get involved to stop them.

You probably won’t.

You should probably leave local governments alone, actually.

In fact, if you don’t do anything about the taxes, then don’t mess with our airport.
