Within the Land Of Oz

This year started out rough and I needed to make a change. So, I’ve begun to cultivate meaningful relationships with people who wish to see me achieve my dreams; people who I will in turn share my gifts with, to help them achieve theirs. Dependability, loyalty, generosity, positive outlook, and faith in the ability to create for ones self, that which is desired, are all values of mine, and attributes I seek in others. 

A chain of events has occurred this year that’s led to two great mentors coming into my life, willing to share their stories and their wisdom: Las Vegas based commercial photographer, Jerry Metellus (jerrymetellus.com) and Kiwi portrait photographer, Sue Bryce of Sydney, Australia (inbedwithsue.com). They both agreed to take me under their wing to teach me. The saying goes, “when the student is ready, the teacher appears.”

Now, I am working as an assistant to Sue, American and Australian Portrait Photographer of the Year 2011 & 2012, in the Land of Oz. We are touring the East and West coasts including, Melbourne, Sydney, The Gold Coast and Perth. She is teaching me to fish, so to speak, so that when I return to Las Vegas in August, I can feed myself, live abundantly and share my special gifts.

When I return to Vegas, my Downtown studio will open for business. I take portraits of women. My mission is to offer her a service that will enable her to look and feel beautiful with her best friend, sister, mother or daughter at her side.

I know where I want to be in my life and I am determined to get there. I have faith that I will ALWAYS find people willing to help me. I am learning to recognize the power of my mind, to embrace it and use it. This is how I will achieve success in all facets of my life.

In one month I’ve been taught the fundamentals of business and marketing. I’ve been to three states, toured the best of Sydney on foot, partied with Aussie’s best in Melbourne and dipped my feet into the Pacific Oceans Southwest corner. I learned I LOVE piccolo latté’s and banoffe pie. I’ve met some of the most opinionated & talented, artistic eclectic people – ever looking for a reason to laugh. I did a shoot with horses in the Brizzey backcountry, spotted a wild wallaby and shot three behind-the-scenes videos and I’m not even half way thru my trip!
