Canada Post presents Superman 75th Anniversary stamps

I just got my Jersey Post "Man of Steel" stamps and I think I need these Canada Post stamps to complete the collection!

Man of Steel Jersey Postage Stamps

Back in May, Jersey released stamps to celebrate Man of Steel and Jerseyman Henry Cavill. According to the Jersey Post, the series of stamps is their "most adventurous set, in terms of printing techniques, and one of our most exciting releases, with two years of work and planning to get to launch!"

The stamps are available to order at the Jersey Post's website. They also have a Limited Collector's Pack for £60.00 (approx. $91 USD).

Henry spoke about the collection in an interview with ITV. They also presented him with a set of the stamps that the Jersey Post had framed for him.

The set includes six stamps featuring Henry as Superman. Each stamp has its own "superpower". Continue reading below the "read more" break to learn about each of the stamps.

FOIL (60p) stamp: "Featuring a dramatic image, this gleaming stamp is printed on flat simili silver foiling, reflecting the Man of Steel’s incredible strength."

  TRANSPARENT (55p) stamp: "The Man of Steel’s most famous superpower is his ability to fly, depicted here on a transparent stamp that features a dramatic mid-air image."

  MAN OF STEEL (45p) stamp: "The 45p stamp features a close-up of Jersey’s own Henry Cavill. It also has its own superpower triggering the augmented reality app through Smartsy. To download the Smartsy App visit the App Store."

  HEAT-SENSITIVE (68p) stamp: "This unique stamp is printed with thermochromic ink; when warmth is applied the Earth is revealed behind the Man of Steel."

  GLOW IN THE DARK (88p) stamp: "Printed with glow in the dark ink which reveals the hidden message from the Man of Steel’s Kryptonian father Jor-El. The words are only visible in the dark."

  GRANITE (80p) stamp: "The Man of Steel’s incredible strength is evoked by crushed granite from Beauport Bay, which gives this thermographic stamp its rough, tactile finish."

  Beauport Bay is Henry's favorite place in Jersey. :)
