I have no idea how I didn’t faint and my hands were shaking. Also I was that person who told him I liked him in Avatar because of course I did. I did make the probably worst face every time I remembered I met him during the TEN HOUR PLANE RIDE home.

I did and my flight back was full of Lucasfilm people including Dave Filoni...who I got a selfie with IN CUSTOMS.

Book Recs

Kushiel’s Legacy by Jacqueline Carey. It’s an epic fantasy series set in an alternate universe version of our world. The main character is a courtesan/spy who is cursed by a god to feel pain as pleasure. There’s a lot of BDSM in the series so that won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but if you like ASoIaF for the political intrigue & blending of history with fantasy, you’ll probably enjoy it. There are 6 books in the main series–the first one is Kushiel’s Dart.

The Sunne in Splendor by Sharon Kay Penman. Historical fiction set during the Wars of the Roses, focusing particularly on Richard III. If you’re interested in learning more about the time period that inspired ASoIaF, this book is worth checking out. It’s more historically accurate than Philippa Gregory’s novels, though the view of Richard is perhaps a bit romanticized.

The enthusiasm you guys have for this series is really infectious. I know how hard it can be to keep that going in a small fandom, as I run a blog for a small fandom myself. I know exactly what it's like to have to search high & low for stuff to reblog or generate content myself because the fandom doesn't produce fanworks. Keep doing what you're doing!
