THE NETHERLANDS: JULIA VAN BERGEN JOINS WAYLON’S TEAM ON THE VOICE OF HOLLAND | wiwibloggs
im sure ive said it before but junior eurovision 2014 was so good tbh
wait wait wAIT WAIT WAIT.
ITALY WON JESC IN 2014 AND I KNEW NOTHING ABOUT IT????? NOBODY TALKED ABOUT IT HERE????????????
Tis the season for JESC again!
Ula Ložar (Slovenia JESC2014) & Maraaya (Slovenia ESC2015) covering Conchita's ESC2014 winning song Rise Like A Phoenix. So much Eurovision in one video, and after Uza's complete snub at JESC, I hope Maraaya can bring a justice to the country. Her song at least deserves the final.
Finding out the split result of Junior Eurovision 2014 confirms what many people suspected and what makes me so angry, which is that for the first time since the juries were reintroduced, they were able to overpower the voting public, and based on reaction to Italy's win, I have to question why they are given so much power. Bulgaria and Armenia gave visually captivating performances to back up already well-produced songs, and both were popular before and after the contest (Bulgaria would even have made history winning from the dreaded position 2!!!), and then Italy comes along and jurors clearly just closed their eyes, went WOW HE SING BIG, and spammed him with votes. I understand that juries ensure that quality singers and songs get their fair share, e.g. Malta finishing seventh would have been a shame, but Italy went in with little thought in staging and frankly gave a boring performance. It's only a matter of time before the juries do the same with the senior contest (Italy's senior return came pretty close although with the better song and performance), and people really won't be happy then, but until the protests begin, I don't see EBU doing much to make sure the people's vote is more important than that of the jury's.
In light of B&H's withdrawal, I really hope Bulgaria's JESC result can make finding funding/sponsorship easier for them so that we can bump the participation number back up to 39.
