A Home for Spark The Dragon, book - 19/03/2025
Happy to share that I received my copy of A Home For Spark the Dragon today! It's a beautiful book and feels like such a labor of love from Michael, in every way. He mentions in his Author's Note at the beginning the importance of telling stories and how doing so can do so much to effect change. I don't think there is any way a story as poignant and heartfelt as this could not touch people's hearts, and I believe it truly will have the power to change lives...

Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟/5
When a storm leaves Spark without a place to live, he must set out to find somewhere new. He meets many kind friends along the way, but will this little dragon ever find a place to call home?
Reading about Spark the dragon is enhanced by Michael Sheen’s author note about his inspiration for this story. “I wanted to see if there might be a way to engage young readers with some of the issues around homelessness without shying away from a few of those complications…I wanted to try to tell a story for young readers about a character who loses their home.”
The authors and illustrator of this story really cared about the message, which felt very important to me. Spark is in search of a home that’s just right for him, something many of us can relate to. I loved the illustrations, the story behind the story, and the ending as it came about. This is a wonderful book.
