Have you considered talking to Millie Bobbie Brown, or trying or whatever? She seems to be growing up way too fast as a child actor and I just wondered if you have ever been told you might could be a help to kids like her? You don’t have to answer, you can just think about it *if* it isn’t a stress on your life. If it is, forget I said anything.

When I moderated the Stranger Things panel at Paleyfest a year or so ago, I did. I told all those kids that the industry will do everything it can to take their childhoods away from them, and I encouraged them to resist its efforts to make them grow up before they are ready. I felt like most of them didn’t hear me, which was understandable. When I was their age, I wouldn’t hear me, either. But I hoped their parents were listening.

I worry about her a lot. She’s a smart and talented kid, but she was REALLY into being famous (which is totally normal; that attention feels good, especially when you’re a teenager) and seemed to be at risk of falling into a bad place. I hope she has good and honorable adults around her who care about her, and aren’t just trying to squeeze every penny out of her, like my parents did to me. If she and her parents aren’t careful, she could go full Lohan, and that would be a tragedy.

I’ve often thought about writing a pamphlet or essay or something, that’s for young actors and their parents, to help them protect themselves from a predatory industry, and predatory celebrities like Drake who groom young girls for their own gratification.

Hello, I'm looking for a fic where the doctor and rose are eating at a restaurant on an alien planet and they are approached or observed by a tour group of 4th dimensional beings. The tour guide mentions something about mating rituals or something and tugs on a bond that Rose and the Doctor share. Doctor is embarrassed and Rose doesn't know what they're talking about. I read it a long time ago and pretty sure it was on Whofic

Fanfic Writer Wednesday: 6/14

It’s time for another Series Spotlight. Today’s series is more along the lines of a ‘verse connected by a set of head canons. 

It all begins with A Long History by @jessalrynn​.

If you haven’t read this story, you need to. Young One meets Rose pre-”Rose,” and they fall in love. It’s a beautiful, glorious romance that sets up the most incredible set of head canons regarding bonding and time travel and who the Doctor and Rose are to each other. 

Please note: The story is 100% canon-compliant. That’s a slight spoiler, but since I didn’t warn the last person i recced the story to and they were... surprised... I feel like it’s a warning worth giving. Yes, this means she explains why they don’t know each other when Nine and Rose meet, but it also leads to a very incredible explanation of how Nine happened to be there just when Rose needed him, and that’s why I love this series so much.

There is a sequel, Relics of Eternity, which is currently abandoned. I live in hope of the day it is continued. 

So, if the only sequel is abandoned, how is this a series? On her ff.net profile page, there’s this list of all the stories that have references to the various head canons that make up A Long History. 

-Earliest known sighting of any of it: A Week in the Life

-Based on some of the ideas, but not completely official: Kallisti, They Wouldn't Dare, Chapters 5 & 8 of The Ends

-Makes vague mention: Different Morality , Wiggle Room

-Doesn't contradict and doesn't interfere with stated canon, call it mostly official: Misadventures in Babysitting

Additionally, as a reader I feel that Double Crossing and Any Old Storm in a Port share one key head canon with the stories of the “A Long History” ‘verse. Double Crossing is one of my all-time favourite telepathic bonding fics, and probably my favourite accidental bond fic ever. Any Old Storm in a Port is its direct sequel. Both stories involve Rose meeting Classic Doctors, and the reason those bonus Doctors show up is why I feel like they’re connected to this series. 

Final word of warning: ALH is 94K, and it almost impossible to put down. Do not open this story at midnight thinking you’ll read a chapter or two and then continue it tomorrow. If you disregard this warning, do not yell at me at 4am when you finish the last chapter.

She digs into her pocket, finding a quarter. “The meter’s out. I don’t want this person to get a ticket.” She pops the coin into the slot and turns the dial. “There. All better.” 

“You are entirely too good for Midgard.” He smiles at her fondly. 

“I’m not,” she protests. “I’m just your average Midgardian.” 

“Then I shall call you The Average Avenger.” 

He’s deadly serious but Jane busts out laughing. “I’ll take it!”
