the number one rule of the kazekage house: do not wake anyone up. it doesn’t matter what time it is. you don’t know when they went to sleep. leave them alone. they all have insomnia and nightmares and sometimes they sleep in the same room/bed it’s just whatever gets you to sleep.

i think temari wanted a son. when she chose to have a baby with shikamaru, i think she wasn’t really thinking about what gender she wanted the baby to be, or anything, it was more like when they found out it was a boy she was so happy. she could imagine it effortlessly, them raising a little boy. she thought of gaara and kankuro, and even her dad, how she’s been surrounded by men all her life, and she decided it just made sense. she knew their son would be just like shikamaru, just as good and noble and just as kind.

shikamaru has literally never had the ability to lie to temari. when they were first friends, she let him get away with it even though she could tell. she’d raise a brow just a little but keep her mouth shut. by the time the beginning of part two rolls around, it’s her superpower. she’s like hanging out with his friends for the first time (because it’s rude not to invite the ambassador shikamaru’s kind-of-sort-of friends with, regardless of how well anyone actually knows her), and shikamaru’s telling a story. it literally doesn’t matter what it’s about. temari is only barely listening, but everyone’s all impressed and it just comes out of her mouth before she can think about it.

he’s lying. and cue shocked gasps and temari-san!! how do you know?? and she just shrugs very coolly and all she says is i can tell.

i mean the only logical conclusion to draw is that temari and her brothers were all made chuunin after the exam. shikamaru was just the only one from _konoha_ to be promoted. probably once all the dust settled and everything it was like ok they attacked us but their kazekage is dead their village is in shambles and the least we can do is to promote his kids?? they're all clearly above genin level temari and her brothers get the letter a few weeks later and are kind of just okay. bc who cares about these things when everything about your life has just changed drastically? but it's official and a few months later they all take the jounin exam and pass that too ( ':

temari and shikamaru are each other’s firsts. they honestly just were not interested in romance or even really sex beyond a like ‘i guess eventually‘ mentality.

temari’s very hesitant about all the touching usually involved in romantic relationships at first. as a result, when she gets used to it, it means a lot to her, because it’s touching of affection, of love, of desire. there’s just so fewer negative emotions in her life because of him??? it fucks me up

they don’t really ever fight. it’s kinda rare they don’t agree on something immediately, or at least quickly once the other brings up a really good point. they fought once badly and it was about whether or not shikadai could sleep in the same room as them when he was a baby (temari said he couldn’t)

temari is pretty familiar with the nara clan customs way before they start going out, so honestly the minute he asks her out she starts preparing herself for the kid thing. she never ‘talks herself into it’ because that’s bad wording with negative implications, but she needed a lot of time to feel good enough with shikamaru and to be able to believe that she’d live to see their child grow up

×what does your muse smell like? what perfume/cologne are they using? 

ok first and foremost the only perfume temari uses is deodorant. it’s not her thing she doesn’t take the time to bother with it. if someone gifted it to her she might use it?? for special occasions? someone’s gotta mention like it’s a thing to waer perfume for special occasions and the lightbulb will go off over her head. but like i said she won’t think of it on her own. she just smells like her shampoo, which is probably a citrus.

⌘do they rather shower or take a bath? 

temari takes showers. she’s all about water conservation, a habit ingrained into her skull from living in the desert for so long. occasionally, i like to think that she takes baths to relax when she’s a little older (married, basically).

⚢what kind of make-up does your muse use? favourite colours? how much do they use? 

i never really imagine that temari uses make up? maybe it’s just bc i dont but, if she ever did it would probably be natural and light with smoky eye maybe?? idk i know nothing tbh

⦂ what clothes do they sleep in? 

lmao don’t talk to me honestly she sleeps in shikamaru’s shirt. it’s a big secret she’ll kill you if you blab it. she only changes from her day clothes to night clothes literally RIGHT before she gets in bed. that’s how secret it is.

in suna once they start dating she also has a shirt of his to sleep in, but it’s not every night unless she misses him particularly a lot. she was in denial for a while about how serious they were. before they were dating/when she was in denial it was just a tank and shorts nothing fancy.

❅ what do they usually wear when they’re not working? 

all we’ve ever seen temari is casual yukata so i mean that’s probably the most accurate response. like you do you temari japanese clothing things?? whatever kishi was thinking?? she’s obvs pretty traditional
