we all know caos is incapable of dealing with the trauma they inflict on their characters but can we talk about theo for a minute??
+ not only did he go to hell, a traumatic event in itself, but he saw his gay uncle being tortured in hell (someone theo explicitly knew had been punished in his life for being lgbt (1.06))
+ the demon that possessed jesse explicitly said that he was “corrupt” and “a sodomite” (1.06). a biblical way of labeling jesse (and by extension theo) as perverse and inherently sinful. which means it wasn’t just lilith that decided to stick jesse in hell (yeah, he got sent up to heaven in the end, but that demon just confirms that lgbt people can be and certainly are in hell...for being lgbt)
+ theo putnam, a trans guy, saw his lgbt relative being eternally punished in hell
Alright I'm trying to sort CAOS Hell into Dante's Inferno, and I think I have most of them figured out:
The Field of Witness is in the 7th circle - Violence, specifically in the Inner Ring. This was reserved for "Sodomites and Blasphemers", and this is where the Fright Club finds Jesse Putnam, who Apophis claimed to be a "sodomite".
The Forest of Torment is also in the Seventh Circle, though in the Middle Ring. This was reserved for Suicide Victims, and they were transformed into trees so Harpies could feed on them for eternity. When the Fright Club enters the forest, you hear the trees screaming in human voices.
Pandemonium is located in the 9th Circle - Treachery, specifically in the 4th Round, Judecca. This was reserved for Traitors to their Lords/Masters, and we all know Lucifer was considered a traitor to God. The Ninth Circle is also where Dante said Satan resided.
The only one I can't place is the Shores of Sorrow. All the information we get is that in the wooden cages are "souls of the damned, drowning in the high tide over and over again, for all eternity." I think it would tie in nicely if this was also in the 7th Circle, but the Outer Ring was said to be filled with blood and fire. Any ideas?
I did notice this seems to be Uncle Jesse
Sabrina: Hey, if you really want to keep possessing random mortals, I guess that's fine with us.
Apothos: Wow. Really?
Sabrina: No, not really. We have magic and we'll find you.
Sabrina: Jesse Putnam will die if we don't do something
Me, on the other side of a screen: Girl so what? People die! Let him die
Susie's Uncle Jesse cleans up nice
'Sea Marks' - Oct. 11-Nov. 2, 2013
The set is struck. The risers put away. The lights turned off. Let’s call that a show. An overwhelming “thank you” to Toni, Kim, Paris, Ruth, Meg, Kelly and Jesse. It wouldn’t have been as wonderful an experience without each of you.
