Max was walking down the sidewalk to get back to the motel. His car was still in the shop and he wasn’t going anywhere without it. He had just passed a bar when he spotted a man who seemed to be bothering a woman going in the same direction as him. He could hear her telling him to stop, to leave her alone, but the guy didn’t seem to be getting the message.
He wasn’t one to stop and get in the middle of people’s business, but he didn’t want to hear about this on the news tomorrow.
Rather than going around them or going over to the other side of the street, Max walked up to them.
“Hey. Everything good here?” He asked, focusing on the guy. “I think you’re going in the wrong direction. Bar is back there, mate.”
