Cozy Oversized Raglan Sweater
As winter is still alive,I decided to add an oversized sweater on my project plan. My favorite winter outfits almost always involve leggins and oversized tops.I found them very comfortable and versatile. So,my oversized sweater is done and I am ready for these cold days of winter.I can tell you,it’s very cozy!!!
It knitted in the round with circular needles from bottom to top.I added three different colours to make it brighter,as I am fan of colourful sweaters. The best thing knitting in the round is that you don’t have to connect pieces in the end and of course less seaming.I made it with big neckline cause I love to wear shirts underneath and I find big necklines comfortable while you are moving.
At the bottom i knit a big ribbing 2X2 and then i continue with stockinette stitch with some decreases till I reach the armpits.
I love raglan sweaters and also I love colours.I am excited of my result because it’s my first raglan sweater. Now,it’s time to share with you my useful information which I found them on youtube. Here you will see some videos of KnitPicks. It helped me alot and without Nina’s help and KnitPicks, I wouldn’t have finished my sweater. To tell you the truth it had a lot of maths but it worth it!!!
Here you will find downloadable sheets that will help you to knit your own raglan sweater and of course do the correct counting.
I’ve adored being able to knit my own clothing items.I love knitting and it helpes alot with everyday routine and stress.Despite of beeing a hobby it’s also a life skill.Studies have found the rhythmic and repetitive action of handknitting can “help prevent and manage stress, pain and depression, which in turn strengthens the body’s immune system”,as well as create a relaxation response in the body which can decrease blood pressure, heart rate, help prevent illness, and have a calming effect. Pain specialists have also found that the brain chemistry is changed when one hand knits, resulting in an increase in “feel good” hormones (i.e. serotonin and dopamine), and a decrease in stress hormones.
