let's play "number + character, get a drabble": Yuri + Yuya, #83 Heal, please
Ohh sounds like fun. And to answer your other question, I reblogged it in the hopes I might get some prompts that might help get my muse running again.
Yuya stirred as footsteps sounded softly outside his room, pattering across the floor.
‘Who on earth is up at this hour?’ he wondered, glancing momentarily at his bedside clock before crawling out of bed and heading towards the door. Peeking out he spotted a familiar head of hair going down the stairs. ‘What’s Yuri doing up?’
Yuri sighed as sat down in the living room window, the curtains drawn slightly to let in the moonlight. Nighttime was so quiet, and at least in the Sakaki house he didn’t have to worry about being chewed out for being out of bed ‘after hours’. Not like at Duel Academy.
He’d tried once to slip out to watch the stars one night when he couldn’t sleep, only to be caught and dragged back to his room and scolded about being out of bed.
“Yuri?” He spun around at the sound of Yuya’s voice, it was soft, as if he’d just woken up. “What are you doing up?”
“I couldn’t sleep. Go back to bed Yuya.”
Yuya frowned and sat down beside him. Yuri sighed, there was no getting rid of Yuya now.
“Something on your mind?”
Yuri shrugged, “I guess,” he said. Yuri was quiet for a moment before looking over at Yuya. “Why are you so eager to trust me?”
It hadn’t escaped his notice that ever since he’d been taken in that Yuya had made sure he was never alone, and to keep him company when no one else would. It was strange, no one else wanted to be around him, but it seemed like Yuya had no problem being around him. In fact it seemed like he wanted to be around him. It was, weird.
“Because everyone deserves a second chance.”
Yuri looked away and back out the window. “I don’t. Not after what I did.” He drew his knees up close, wrapping his arms around them as he held himself. “And especially from you, I hurt you, and I hurt people close to you. You of all people should hate me, so, why?”
Yuya wrapped his arms around Yuri, starling his Fusion counterpart, “Maybe I should hate you, but I just…I can’t. Not when I see you alone. No one should be alone. Not even you.”
Yuri was silent and quietly leaned into Yuya’s touch, he wasn’t sure he really believed what Yuya was saying, but if it kept Yuya close and kept him from being alone, well, he supposed he couldn’t complain to much. Being alone wasn’t fun.
Yuya sighed, even if Yuri had given up on himself, he wasn’t going to give up on him. It didn’t matter how long it took, he’d get through to him someday.
