Born that man no more may die
Born to raise the sons of earth
Born to give them second birth
This famous carol "Hark the herald angels sing" was written by Charles Wesley.
What a profound message and what a beautiful song! When we sing this carol, whether we realize it or not, we are
singing about being born again!
The Christian life begins with the experience of the new birth! 1 Peter 1:3
says: “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” And in 1 Peter 1:23, it says, “For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable,
through the living and enduring word of God.”
To Nicodemus, an extremely religious leader, who was a learned man, Jesus said, 'Truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again'" (John 3:1-3). And "... no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit'" (V-5). 1 John 5:1 says, “Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God.”
The new birth is not based on feeling, but faith - trusting in God's word and promises.
When we receive Christ into our lives we are born again!
