Soho moments. Soho is such a wild place. There is an abrupt coming together of east, west, the new age and a craving for history, depth and meaning and shallow feeling. I walked past a door that said 'young Thai model upstairs', and we all know what that means... And a second later I'm distracted by some kind of intoxicating dim sum deal that catches my own senses and drives my mind to my stomach. I walk past windows of bookstores, with men and their beards pretending to read, and maybe some actually reading, drinking the best flat white ever and heading upstairs later to check out the antiques. I met a 20 year old Romanian girl sleeping rough because she came over for a job that fell through. She has to stay till her flight home in 1 month because she has no income to change the flight. She sleeps in the park. Buzzing and vivacious I'm reminded suddenly of KINKY BOOTS and LION KING and JERSEY BOYS and swanky, eager tourists queueing up to complete their weekend in London with the perfect treat: west end wonder. All in the same place I find these things. So easy and painful it is to be distracted from the dark in the world of bright lights. soho, I love you dark and light, and Jesus loves you far more #soho #London #JesuslovesSoho #thingsimlearningat24 (at Soho)
