Summary: The Camelot High-famous Merlin Emrys asks the nerdy, awkward Arthur Pendragon on a date to the café Arthur normally frequents on school mornings. Arthur has no idea why or what for, all he knows is that it is going to end badly. Also, why did he say yes?

Comment: It makes a nice change for Arthur to be the shy and stuttering one rather than Merlin, and I really felt for him as he constantly worried that he was the butt of a joke that he wasn’t aware of. The fact that Merlin is genuine and clearly cares about Arthur makes the story even more enjoyable.

Arthur Pendragon didn’t believe in the whole “soulmate” nonsense. He was outfitted a Clock because his mother had wanted to get him one, thinking it would make it easier for him to find the other side of his coin. Boy, was she wrong. Or, Arthur has a metal ring in his left wrist that has a countdown on it—a countdown to when he meets his soulmate. Unfortunately, he’s already met his soulmate. Whose Clock didn’t go off like his did. Now, six years later, he meets his soulmate again. Only this time, his soulmate notices when his Clock goes off.
