Finally Reunited: One Shot
The sun shines brightly as Y/N squints while driving down the highway. “These two weeks at Camp Shallow Lake better be worth it” she grumbles. From the passenger seat, her bestie, TT sighs. “It’s either this or I hear you complain about not seeing your man”. Before Y/N can protest, she hits a speed bump and zips her mouth. TT chuckles.
As she pulls into the parking lot, her eyes dart around the scene before her. Students, 9-12th, walk around excitedly. Some look homesick while others reunite with friends. “You think Jet forgot about camp?” Y/N asks worriedly. “You mean the camp he’s been coming to for years with Maddox? I highly doubt it.” TT retorts. They grab their bags and check in at the front desk. Y/N grabs hers and TT’s phone and drops it in the phone bucket.
They both get assigned to Honeycomb. TT grabs Y/N’s hands as they run down the hill to their cabin. The door is cracked open and they peak inside. No one is there yet so they rush to choose their bunks. “We’ll look who’s here early this year!” Y/N and TT perk their heads up and turn around to see Maddox. “Maddox!!” Y/N runs up to her. “Is he?” Maddox smirks as she says “By the lake” Y/N races out before the girls can even blink. “Yet she doesn’t move with a purpose when I try to get her to go to the mall me” TT says while shaking her head.
Y/N makes it to the hill while barely being able to breathe. She sees a figure with Jet’s distinct head shape and she smiles. “Is this the Right Place?” She calls out. He turns around smiling and they take in each other’s faces.
“Hey, Y/N. I missed you.” Y/N runs up to him and cups his face. “And I’ve missed you.” She kisses him like she’s never kissed him before. To be fair, last time at camp they kissed only twice. Ever since the doc release, Jet has been working on getting his music out there.
“I couldn’t stop thinking about you at this label meeting. So I wrote you a song.” He murmurs into her neck. “A song? You really didn’t have to do that.” He puts a finger up to her lips. “Just let me play it for you sometime this week. When the moment is right.” Y/N, who’s still flabbergasted, just nodded.
They sit at the foot of the the receding water and stick their feet in. “Maddox warned us about the water.” Y/N says as she leans on his shoulder. “That’s just tale to scare campers from going in. Maddox and I used to come out here all the time before we drifted apart.” There’s a moment of silence. Y/N takes his hand and squeezes it tightly. “I’m glad you too are closer again. Just know you are loved. By your sister, me-…” she freezes cause she realizes she’s never actually said the words. Jet turns to look at her.
“You love me?” Y/N looks at her knees, completely avoiding the question. “I love you too, Y/N” he cups her face. They share a sweet kiss as the sun begins to set.
