Belgian intermezzo :)
¡Hola muchachos!
"This is your captain speaking. It's around 20 degrees now in Belgium, 1 o' clock local time. We hope you will have a pleasant flight to Brussels."
Aaah, those words, the name of that city... Yup, you can guess it, I went back to Belgium for a while and it's been truly amazing! A small time-out to spend some time with the people that are dear to me :) It may seem weird to fly all the way back just for that, but a little but further in the post you'll see why ;)
It's been quite a trip, oh dear. So I had to take 3 planes (again) to come back: Medellín -> Bogotá -> Madrid -> Brussels. My first plane lifted off on Wednesday the 27th of August at 11:20 and I arrived in Brussels the 28th at 15:00, major jetlaaaag :-/ Didn't fall asleep in the plane and just slept for one hour at the airport in Madrid. The backfire hit on me - pretty nasty - 2 days later. However, that didn't stop me from having a great time in Belgium! :D
On the day I arrived didn't happen a lot actually. Just wanted to go home and get some rest - eventually I'd sleep for 14 hours :P BUT there was something special about my return home. My girlfriend (@mafandravv Te amo <3) came all the way from Spain to spend this week with me.
Nope, I'm not joking. The day afterwards then, on Friday, we went then to Knokke (a city at the beach) to go visit the cartoonfestival to have a real laugh. The main subject was genetics - so, freaks as we are (genes are the ones to blame :P), we went there and it was really funny! Obviously, I'll share one with you ^^
But apart from that there were also several other cartoons, about actuality or even just random stuff, and perhaps the best part: visiting it was completely for free! :D After having visited it, we went for a stroll along the beach, fooled a bit around in the sun, had some great food...it was really an amazing, romantic evening :3
Then Saturday the jetlag got me, but nevertheless me and Ale went to see a friend in Gent, did some small shopping and went to the hairdresser. Indeed, we wanted to be tidy for a special event...
...Because on Sunday it was the 25th wedding anniversary of my parents! And I was so glad I could be there with them to celebrate it. A nice party with friends and family, a lot of people that were asking about my stay so far in Colombia and well, nothing but good stuff happened to me so far and I think everybody deserves to know. It's absolutely beautiful and I haven't seen a thing of the country yet!
After talking, speeching, talking, eating, talking, playing, talking and talking we all went back home with a satisfied feeling after having this amazing afternoon.
Monday was then another day of relaxing a bit, but also trying to arrange some stuff for when I would go back to Colombia, but also when I would return to Belgium afterwards. "For good?" - Nooo, muchachos, you bet I'll be back in Colombia after that some other time! ;)
Tuesday was then the last day before leaving Belgium again. After meeting up with my best friend, the day was practically over and I had to prepare my suitcases again.
Saying goodbye to my family and amor, one time more. Off to Colombia, heading for the skies, but soon to return to the people where my heart lies.
