Hell: What’s Happening There?
When Pierre and Esme were murdered the plan was set into action.
Esme was damned via demon contract per the Chernabog. Pierre did not need one. His soul was tainted enough to make it there all on his own.
This was the beauty of the plan. As with all souls they’d plummet to their judgement in front of the minotaur by the castle on Limbo’s edge just beyond the Gate’s of Hell. Pierre and his mother would stand in line waiting their sentencing. Judgment was called. They were already here. They weren’t going to Heaven. That wasn’t in question. What was going to happen to them in Hell? It didn’t matter where the minotaur threw Esme. It was of zero consequence because Chernabog already had a claim on her damnation. All they had to do was find out where Pierre was going to be cast. He was thrown into the second ring for Lust.
“Lust originally was not only an obsessive desire for sex, but also for expensive items and excessive comforts (Over-pampering of the body) as well as sexual misconduct. It could also be defined as disproportionate, overzealous longing for something or someone.”
Apparently, Pierre’s lust had crossed those lines. However, it is also considered the least offensive of all sins and with lightest punishment. So, Pierre was lucking out when it came to what Hell would do to him personally in comparison to other condemned souls. According to Dante, Lust is a form of Divine Love for others perverted into an obsession with the flesh which is why it is only designated as the second circle rather than a lower one where the harsher punishments truly begin.
A great storm would be in the Circle of Lust, lightning and gales, winds with no protection or shelter. It’s a place of no rest, no sleep, and a storm so strong it’s always hurling you around, no ability to stay a course at all, disorientation, confusion. But, Jenner and Esme would come quickly to his side and could pull him from this ring to and drag him to the next.
This is how it would begin. But, the search for Maleficent’s time loop was anything but GPS easy. He’d learn quickly what Seven and everyone meant by time doesn’t run in a straight line in Hell nor do roads, pits, or cities. There’s no real map to Hell. But, Diablo was their best guide. As the pits shifted and turned he could sense her and he could lead them.
It was going to be exactly what Seven feared. If Pierre started in at the entrance in first rings, and Maleficent was very deep in, it was going to be a very long journey for Pierre, Esme, Jenner, and Diablo. This crew were going to get to know each other well whether they liked it or not.
All that said, as time was going by Seven was doing what he could trying to stay connected in every spare moment he could to help along the way from the other side. He was holing up in his room in magic circles and living in spaces in-between trying to warn of dangers, anything, everything as they went along. If he saw harpies coming to ambush them overhead he would send word they were coming. If the axis of Hell was shifting he’d tell them to hold the fuck on to anything and hold tight.
But, one particular day they were all taking a break somewhere near the forest of suicides where the bleeding trees were and trying to catch their breath that Jetsam fucking Laveau happened to be trouncing by. At least it was a quiet place. Nothing was chasing them or anything like that. He was alone or so it seemed. He’d look just the same as on Earth, not a matty hair different, still like he was frozen in time, muddy, bloody, smeary eye make up, rock n roll, only with an axe in his hand.
He looked at Esme and Pierre. “You two kicked the fucking bucket? Well, kiss my fucking grits and suck my cock. Who did it? I gotta know? There’s no way somebody didn’t finally get sick of you two gits.” He was laughing. “Just tell me.”
