Jews Don't Count by David Baddiel

How sad and they say we have an open and free society yet are being forced to adhere to a set woke agenda. this topic has raised it's ugly head once again as I found myself picking up this book by David Baddiel on "Jews Don't Count". A book that really highlights the real problem of anti-Semitism in this country. And it really highlights the biased of one group or trending cause against an established belief system that has been part of Britain for years.

Hence highlighted below are the headline of someone recently jailed for their belief, hence it also prompted the purchase of this book "Jews don't Count."

The aspect of antisemitism present day is really brought to the fore with David's book highlighting it as a daily occurrence for the Jewish community. One incident mentioned in the news was about "two activists entering into the Jewish Sector of London to protest with posters depicting Holocaust images and aggressively approaching Jewish passers-by demanding they renounce Israel. If something similar had been perpetrated in a Muslim area of London on an issue, this action would have been shutdown immediately and widely condemned by the progressives."

I can recall a few years after returning to England there was a case brought in 2005 to the High Court in London against Deborah Lipstadt. An American professor of Holocaust studies whose speaking engagement is disrupted by David Irving, a writer on Nazi Germany. He files a libel lawsuit in the United Kingdom against Lipstadt and her publisher for declaring him a Holocaust denier in her books. As the burden of proof in UK libel cases lies with the accused, Lipstadt and her legal team, led by solicitor Anthony Julius and barrister Richard Rampton, must prove that Irving lied about the Holocaust.

This is not the issue in David Baddiel's book but the ongoing discrimination of the Jewish people living here. Jews who are British and who as with David may not want to have anything to do with Israel but are persecuted solely because they are Jewish. He also highlighted a speech made in a Labour Party conference by the then Shadow Secretary of State for Women and Equalities. On the issues of equalities and who they would value and protect against discrimination. She mentioned literally all seemingly keen not to alienate anyone. Yet alas she did so by omission of not mentioning the Jewish Community.

It now appears the Christian community are no longer part of that protection from discrimination.

David I'm sorry that certain sectors of the Christian body wrongly blame the Jews for Jesus death on the Cross. As I and many others do not believe this because we understand what was written. As although his death was called for by the so named religious leaders of the day, it was crowd incited demanding his death that finally nailed Him to the Cross. David that poster that you mentioned as part of some protest is the reality as He probably would be subjected to the same abuse and persecution again as He doesn't fit our modern day thinking. And David I'd like to say as with myself many Christians do side with you on your fight on discrimination against Jews.

A well written book and discrimination that is sadly overlooked by our Woke community that says, "we need to stay angry, and stay woke" · "does being woke mean I have to agree with what all other woke folks say should be done about issues in the black community?" Rather than focusing on the forgotten communities like our Jewish friends and neighbours.
