“Now, Xavier is in middle school and he doesn’t remember not having JEX|NYC with his brothers. He’s designed bags and t-shirts that he’s sold to his teachers & friends.

While this hobby matures, I started working with other factories to bring new products to market with a focus on helping under-appreciated communities — teachers, veterans, senior citizens, etc. At Nike I was more interested in working with Sam McCracken and N7 than any entertainer or athlete. It was natural for me to connect design with helping others, but I wanted to expose them to how the process worked.

So, the boys and I will introduce some of these projects with our social impact partners over the next year — beginning with a shoe designed for seniors. We will be partnering with a few nonprofit organizations and Heeling Soles to hand out hundreds of pairs of our JON in New York, North Carolina and Ohio in December 2018.”

Our quality hasn't been at it's best for quite sometime now, we settled for the next best thing and that becomes temporary fame and success, which has been handed out and it's moving faster than ever before. To be honest I think it's for the worst in longevities eyes, because technological and economical advancements are being used to platform and showcase short term achievements. The art and true culture has been over saturated with this mass production of get in where you fit in mentality...it's simple for me and others who twin the idea of being two or multi talented way creators on and off the court. We need more then just one Lebron, Carmelo, Damian Lillard's of the game...More DWade's and MJ's and Cris Paul's also the A.I.'s, Kobe's, Kareem Abdul-Jabbars, Magic Johnson's and many more who used this game as a platform to express their inner leadership and creativity to better themselves and others around. Our S A F E middle school league along with MKN+MVZ NY is designed to support the next generation of talented athletes to become long term successful individuals, great future leaders of our communities and states.
