Danielle brushed some of her blonde waves forward to cover the right side of her face, ducking her head so that Rhee couldn’t see just how ruddy the skin was. The flesh where the bruise had blossomed felt warm and throbbed with the increased blood flow, but she’d never concede that point.
“I’m fine,” she asserted, weakly at best. “It’s nothing.”
