His movements were silent and his steps were light as he stepped across the path. When he got to his desired location, he wrapped his arms around the vidyadhara's waist, tugging him back against his chest.
"You've put up your hair."
Golden eyes glanced at the familiar red ribbon holding up Dan Heng's hair. It was his. Seeing it being used by him... well, it made him feel a certain type of way. Wanting to show how much he enjoyed the view, he dipped his head down and pressed kisses along his exposed neck. Each kiss trailed until he finally nipped at his skin before whispering.
" It suits you baobei~."
The days were beginning to pass by comfortably, almost to the point that Dan Heng was growing acclimated to living out of Jing Yuan's residence. Time together was spent much more often as the General had opted to take his work back home, something they permitted in lieu of the Borisins' attempted invasion of the Luofu, especially as the investigations against Jimg Yuan's actions during Phantylia's invasion were still ongoing. The Seat of Divine Foresight had become the Generals' meeting place, so Jing Yuan working from home didn't seem that conspicuous.
Dan Heng had just finished sweeping the concrete and stone paths littered throughout the garden, having taken up weeding in the meantime. He'd never been one to be idle, even during times of convalescence when he was still recovering spiritually and mentally from encountering Taoran after so long. A small pile of weeds sat next to the Vidyadhara as he worked, comfortable enough in his true form that he'd felt no need to disguise himself. With his long tresses tied back by a borrowed ribbon, his ceremonial garb was replaced by airy pants, slippers, and a cotton, ankle-length Changshan. Lifting the basket full of weeds, Dan Heng contemplated the next patch of garden he'd tend to when a pair of strong, muscular arms embraced him and he became engulfed by Jing Yuan's presence, chest warm against his back.
Dan Heng blushed an inexorably dark hue, the feverish temperature swallowed by the body heat Jing Yuan radiated as he towered over the Vidyadhara.
It was only when he felt the tickle of Jing Yuan's fringe and his lips pressed to his nape that he realized how damning his blush was, and how obvious it would be as teeth and lips touched his skin, squirming slightly.
"It's easier to work like this," Dan Heng managed, face unbearably hot. His ears drooped, even the tips a bright red. "I had to borrow one of your ribbons. I hope you don't mind."
