Amoyamie Crib has established it’s new branch in Malolos, Bulacan last November 20, 2016. The venue looked utterly charming and as a result, we tried it three days after its opening.
The store is located at the second floor of a commercial center in front of Malolos Capitol. You can effortlessly find it because it's just right across Bulacan State University and just along the highway. As we came in, we looked around and observed the interior. It’s indeed captivating, very engaging and unique. It has colorful walls made in wood. Each room has designated capacity. There are rooms good for two pax, rooms available for three to four persons and so on. It has many divisions and due to that, the store can afford to have a huge number of customers at a short period of time. On the other hand, the place was filled with the noise made by the crowd. It was absolutely discordant and distracting. However, we still made our way to our table and ordered. The room we had chosen was good for four that looked like a snug. Pillows are made as seats. It was a bit uncomfortable because i couldn’t fully stretch my legs since the space wasn’t enough. Lighting affects the camera shot so I included it as a factor. The illumination in our room was a bit dull that’s why I just adjusted the highlight and shadow of my shot. The temperature of the place is even; not that too hot nor too cold. Another thing to look for is its comfort room. They have no comfort room available for the customers. We had to go out of the cafe and look for the comfort room of the commercial center. My rate for the venue and amenities is 1 out of 3 stars.
Their serving time was disappointing. We waited for more than half an hour which made us bored and gave us nuts. Customers passing by were whooping. Crews assigned at the area were hollering. We were about to ask if we could cancel the order until there was a staff who assisted us. We asked her for follow up and ofcourse, to take us pictures. She was overtalkative. You would hear her randomly saying anything like “ay sumeselfie pa, may pagkain na” to a group of customers. I guess it’s their way of being friendly and accommodating but I think it doesn’t work on us. They kept on passing by which distracted us. Note: don’t expect for its full comfortableness because it’s a self-service shop. They will give you a gadget wherein it will light and buzz as a signal that your order is ready to pick up at the counter area. Same with their water. I’d give 1 star for their customer service.
And here comes the food.. Finally order’s complete. We first tried the fries (P49) (which supposedly our side dish lol) and the word “disappointed” just appeared in my sight. It’s no longer hot and crunchy. We also noticed that it’s not deep fried so we complained to the staff who was assisting us saying we want it hot. She took it and came back after a couple of minutes but nothing changed. Next is the sandwich sliced into four with fries, good for one person (P95). All I could say is that there’s nothing special with the sandwich. It tasted so typical like homemade/DIY sandwiches. We also ordered s'mores (P85). Since it wasn’t serve immediately, the melted part of mallows was kind of hardened. It has nuts inside that gave off a twist. The serving of the s'mores was enough to satisfy our tummies. (four tummies!) Lastly, frappe. They offer original flavors (P109) and the upgraded ones (P149). I ordered a Nutella flavor and it was too sweet that made me not finish it. It was overwhelming. It’s kind of hassle to order the upgraded ones because of the toppings, also they decorated each glass of upgraded flavors with syrup around it. It was a little bit messy because the syrup flowing from the glass stained the table. All in all, they use easy and affordable ingredients to reach their target market. Obviously, this shop is student/budget-friendly. A piece of note: they only have few choices in the menu. I’d give a star for being affordable.
Recommendable? Nope. It’s not a perfect place to chill or have some quiet time.
