Ok i think some context is due:

Between 1999 and 2000, noting the success of the series in France and the enthusiasm produced, Bernard Deyriès and Mitsuru Kaneko (who, unlike the NHK, seems interested in the follow-up project) made a 3D short film entitled Jiepen, to serve as a test. In addition to the refusals of broadcasting by television channels and other film actors, the collection of copyrights and issues relating to rightholders postponed the project until the early 2010s.

During an interview in 2002, Bernard Deyriès said that this sequel was to take place about a week after the end of the first series: the children took the Great Condor towards North America where they discovered the trace of another golden city. They would have crossed the Pacific Ocean to find themselves in Japan where the second city of gold would be located. According to the first ideas, the children would also have stepped on Hawaiian and Alaskian soils

Jean Chalopin reveals the appearance of a new character, an English adventurer with an encyclopedia on Mu that Esteban and his companions meet on the Island of California, prisoners of Indians. He would have fled England before being executed as a wizard because of the knowledge of the encyclopedia; he turns out to be a very ambiguous and mysterious character, dangerous for the children with whom he leaves aboard the Grand Condor.

So like this video is the very uhh first version of season 2? If that makes sense
