His lips were tightly pursing together more and more by the moment, “N-..” a choked back laugh nearly slipped even at the thought of trying to deny his own laughter that was bubbling in his chest. “N-no way I’m laughing.” he spoke,  obviously trying his best to not offend her, But the girl just looked way too silly now and after hearing her story of how unfortunate her day was going, he felt a bit of guilt but also a bit of humor. It didn’t take long before his attempts at holding it in were completely shattered and he faltered, Bundles of laughter slipped past his lips and filling the area around them. “Okay–!!” he gasped in between his laughter, “Okay, fine!!” he finally gave in before smiling widely to the other, She was soaked all the way through and her hair was dripping at the ends,  and her pout itself was quite cute. “You’ve had a rough day, I’m sorry to laugh, it just– it’s kind of of unbelievable that all those things could happen to you–” he said, still breaking down his laugh as he hummed and peered around. “I’m sure someplace we can get you something to properly change into.”

It was one of those days where the weather seemed heavily bipolar, dropping from freezing negative temperatures to seeming like Febuary was in the midst of April in spring; there was no in between. From her overcoat caked with melted slush, anyone could guess it was the latter, feeling even more so disappointed as she tried to avoid walking out on the sidewalk where fast cars drove by but ended up in such a mess. Luck was a prick sometimes.

“Ah, stop,” she whines, tiers protruding into a pout, cheeks filling with air before releasing an exasperated sigh, “I know I already look like one of those unknown sea monsters that washes up into the sea.” Her initial warning seemed useless anyways, already anticipating opposite of what she had just said before he’d even done so. Feeling as if she’d lost, though the offer seemed a bit tempting, she would have to refuse. Nose stuck up haughtily, the shake of her head cascaded droplets of water down tips of her hair, reminding her of the decision she was most likely going to regret. But sure she was firm in her resolve, she spoke, “됐어. I don’t … need your help.” 

Pride over pity, you see.

“Well you can be whatever you want. Isn’t that what they say? ”

“So if I wanted to be a sheep herder, I can be one? A cactus? What about the image of a toenail?” A genuine smile forms on her lips, it was a very short-sighted response, indeed–however, she finds this whole situation hilarious. “You said I can be anything, I actually wanted to be a sheep herder as a kid. Maybe this year is the year I make those dreams come true, hey? Now you gotta help me achieve that. ”

--- “is it though?” kichul asked softly, eyes searching the other’s features to see if he was telling the truth. “is it easier to e without friends and family, without support?” he inquired, “because that sounds lonely and burdensome, it sounds quiet.” he listed, lips tugging into a frown at the thought of being alone.

--- “who? me?” kichul laughed, “definitely not,” he shook his head, “ah, if you were looking for a quiet time, i’m definitely not the person to be with,” he joked. kichul was a boy who can’t go seconds without making some noise.
