That Knight...

He tightened his hold on the grip of the wood, eyes scanning for any movement. He didn’t lose his mark, did he? A savage howl told him otherwise, and he moved his aim to the left. Thwang! A release of the bowstring sent the once knocked arrow flying, a yelp signifying he landed a hit. Jae tossed the useless weapon to the side, watching it magically disintegrate as he brought out his true weapon. Even in the dark, the greatsword he brandished dimly illuminated a small radius around him. The hunt was on. He dropped down from the building, dashing towards the target of tonight; a monster, almost werewolf-like, that was terrorizing the streets. 

Jae didn’t understand why the beast hadn’t sought him out yet. Something else must of been keeping it’s attention, which was beneficial for him. He was able to move through the streets while following the monster with relative ease. Still, he cautiously moved forward. Normally, Jae took rounds around the city at night, looking for any monsters while dodging unnecessary heroes. He didn’t want to get into more trouble than needed, so he typically didn’t stay out long. But this monster was particularly sneaky, and had eluded him all night, which made it all the more exciting when he finally found it.

A single street light stood to the side, offering enough light to see two figures brawling. If anything, the arrow he’d sent in the beast’s back only seemed to piss it off more. It’s movements were eratic, chasing after whatever it was fighting. He conjured a small shortsword in his hand, not wanting to be left out of the fight, and aimed it at the foe. With a little bit of magic, he shot it at the beast. It tore into its arm, drawing the attention of the beast to Jae. A loud snarl cut through the silence as it charged at him, and he eagerly antcipated the fight they would have.

“By my honor, I will bring this beast down!” His eyes shifted to the other stranger who was fighting earlier. “Join if you will, otherwise I shall enjoy this battle myself.”

Just as quickly as he spoke, he leaped forward to meet the swipe of the monster’s claws with his own sword.

even if the start of their friendship was a little bit intense ( as things used to be with jisoo ), she actually managed to tolerate jihyo. there were very few people who managed that, but the other actually held pretty good of a fight - and she appreciated jisoo’s skills as well. most good fighters she had met were just huge assholes about it, which only meant jisoo had to take on the job of proving them wrong.

“oh, you suck.” she couldn’t have been more offended. all the praising she had given her for such a treason like that. “are you kidding me?” her eyes followed luigi as he slowly fell into the darkness. the rainbow road was always known for ending friendships, but she hadn’t had the experience until that very day. a bump and her kart was already flying out of the track. damn it, luigi. he’d always be the weaker brother.

her character was dropped back on the last spot he was seen, already falling several places behind. “i’ll kill you.” the kart was already picking up speed, driving past an item box to be welcomed by the known sound of item generation. bullet bill. “and that won’t be only in real life.” with a click luigi turned into a huge bullet, gaining the extra speed needed to zoom past anyone who was in her way. jihyo’s character happened to be one of them, falling into the darkness like she had done once before. “you suck.”

Tranquility

Jae was no stranger to all nighters. Earlier, him and Jihyo were out fighting monsters. One thing led to another, and they ended up getting a bit more action than they anticipated. Yet, they prevailed. Usually after such events, Jae follows her back home to spend the night, claiming his apartment was “too far away” or he was “too tired”. Really though, he just wanted to make sure she was okay. Besides, she didn’t mind... or at least, he thought so.

It was late, and Jihyo was asleep at his constant insistence. On the other hand, in the living room, he was casually flipping through a book with a ‘cheesy’ drama on in the background. He really wasn’t tired, and the korean language, even if he had a strong grasp on it, still fascinated him. The words were barely read, as he found much more interest in just the shape of the characters. 

The flash of light from the hallway caught his attention. Soon after, Jihyo followed out with a rather shocking appearance. She looked rather pale. Her hair was disheveled, and the emotion displayed on her face was something he’d never want to see. He quickly stood up and made his way over to her, “Is everything all right? What’s wrong?”

pet — write a drabble of my character buying yours a pet.

Jae wasn’t used to gifts. Normally, it was him who gave his time, his energy, anything he could to benefit others. Perhaps it was an unheathly quality, but he couldn’t help it. So when his companion, Jihyo, set a box in front of him, he was quite surprised. “My lady, is this a gift? I appreciate the thought if so, but this is terribly unnecessary. I have done nothing to deserve such a thing.”

Yet, her persistence and reassurance (and maybe his own weakness for her) got him to open the box. A squeal of excitement escaped his mouth as he quickly realized what it was. “Jihyo!” He said forgetting his typical title for her. In his hand was a small Bearded Dragon. Weird? Mayhaps, but being human for so long, even before this time, has made him miss the feeling of scales. “I truly am blessed to have you as companion. I will take good care of the creature, as if it were my own.”

Prank

“Ta da!~” se declared, gesturing to the bottle once more. “Now look inside, you’ll see the coin floating in there,” she said, and waited for the older girl to lean down and squint into the bottle before quickly squashing the bottle in both hands, allowing the water to explode out of the tiny hole and splash Liv in the face.

“I got you, I got you! I didn’t think you’d fall for that one, but I’m glad you did! It was a good one, wasn’t it?”

Curious to see Jihyo’s new trick, Liv kept her gaze on the girl while she opened her own water bottle. Taking a few big gulps from it to satisfy her thirst she wiped her mouth with the back of her hand as she lowered the bottle back to a spot in between her chest and stomach. Closing her bottle again next so she wouldn’t spill any water she leaned closer to investigate the Jihyo’s water bottle. “Looks like an ordinary bottle to me,” she said with a nod.

Eyes going over to the coin, the right corner of her mouth got pulled up in a smirk when Jihyo said that after she’d perform ‘her magic’ the coin would be inside of the water bottle. “Alright.” she said while folding her arms in front of her chest. Wondering how the other was going to pull something like that off, she chuckled shortly when Jihyo put a towel over her bottle. Her brows raising when Jihyo triumphantly said that now the coin was inside of the bottle an unsuspecting (and quite naïve) Liv leaned forward to peer inside of the bottle.

When instead of seeing a coin Liv got treated to a face-shower, she closed her eyes tightly shut while straightening up to get away from the water. Grimacing when Jihyo said she had fallen for her prank, she lifted up her right hand to wipe some water from her face. “Ugh,” she breathed out first as she flicked her hand to make some drops of water fall off of it. Wiping her face again a slight amused smile did appear on her face then. Not being mad about the prank, because she just had been so stupid enough as to fall for it, a chuckle soon left her. “Yes, Jihyo, you got me. You also got my back for a change and have a towel or something?”

sketching — write your character drawing mine or vice versa

“thanks for letting me draw you!” yebin says, settling down with a piece of charcoal in her hand and a pad of paper in her lap. 

“no problem,” jihyo responds. “it’s not like i’m doing much.” and it’s true – yebin just needs to draw her in a candid pose, so jihyo can just sit and work on her other homework while yebin sketches her for her art class. 

quiet music plays from yebin’s bluetooth speaker on her bedside table as they both work, and the sounds of jihyo turning a page of her notes and yebin’s charcoal scratching over the paper combine with the music. normally yebin would sing along under her breath, but her focus is entirely consumed by what she’s doing, so she can barely even hear the music.

an hour passes like this, until yebin finally tosses her pad away and stretches back, her head falling back against her wall. “okay, i can’t work on it anymore. i’ll go crazy. you can look if you want, but it probably isn’t any good,” she says, picking up the pad only to toss it more in jihyo’s direction. 

the other picks it up and examines the picture, which is a profile view of jihyo. her face lacks detail, but her form is clearly leaning back against a wall with her knees pulled up as jihyo’s had been, an open notebook leaning against her legs and a pen in her hand. on the opposite side of her face, it’s clear where yebin tried to capture how jihyo’s long hair fell mostly on her left side, since the right side was tucked behind her ear. “it looks really good! it’s really cool that you drew my position so well – i didn’t think of how hard it might be to draw, honestly.”

three days later, yebin runs up to jihyo in the school hallway, gripping the graded piece in her hands and bouncing on the balls of her feet. “my teacher loved it! i got a perfect score! thank you so much, jihyo!”

Shopping Expedition

Jae loved malls. In the past, he would often find himself wandering through the trade district of the city he protected. He enjoyed any place where he could watch how humans interacted in the modern century. So of course, he had to bring his captor, though he preferred to call her lady, to the shopping center. He would assume that she had been to malls many times in her life, but that hopefully didn’t dampen the experience with him. He chuckled at her words, “Don’t speak such nonsense. I simply enjoy your company. Sometimes it gets a little lonely when you are too busy and do not need my assistance.”

He simply shrugged, but nonetheless kept a grin on his face. It was understandable that it might be strange that he would offer to do something so modern, but hey, that meant he was learning!

“That will be unnecessary. I do not require the currency of this land from you.” Jae replied as they continued to aimlessly walk around. An ominous smile met his face, “I always have coins in my coin purse, wallet, I suppose it is called now.”

When her voice lowered and she questioned if he had ever been to a mall, he couldn’t help but let out a small twinkle of a laugh. With an equally quiet voice, he leaned over and whispered, “In case you’ve forgotten, I work here. I’m a security guard.”

He stood back up and chuckled once more before thinking about her suggestion. “Matching... things? Is that what the modern couple does? They buy things that match?” He vaguely remembered the ridiculously ‘cheesy’ shows that came on the TV often. “But I thought we weren’t like... that?”
