10 headcanons; modern!Zekeren when they're going to bed

Eren snacks before bed. Zeke's given him shit about how unhealthy it is to eat sugary things before they sleep, but Eren doesn't care. Zeke smokes cigarettes & Eren tolerates that. So Zeke can just let him be.

Zeke's an unconscious cuddler. But so is Eren. It really just comes down to how naturally they move around in their sleep as to who grabs who first. Zeke's the big spoon most of the time tho & Eren gets cold easily so it works for them.

Eren is no early bird, unlike Zeke. He'd prefer to sleep for another hour or so when Zeke's getting up.

Reading's pretty normal for Zeke when he's winding down for the night. Eren takes advantage of the opportunities to worm his way into lying w his head on his chest.

Eren hogs the blankets, but Zeke snores. Not terribly loud or anything, but.

Zeke's more apt to wake up in the middle of the night to get a drink of water. Eren's more likely to get up to pee.

Eren takes Zeke's glasses off for him when he falls asleep w them on. He does find it odd his brother's so committed to wearing them, but can empathize w his reasoning (sort of).

Zeke's the light sleeper between the two of them, whereas Eren can sleep like a rock.

Eren's made a casual habit thing of wearing his brother's clothes to sleep in when he can't be bothered to find something of his own. Zeke doesn't complain, but if he points it out even jokingly Eren gets mildly peeved about it.

Instead of waking him, Zeke carries Eren to bed when the younger Jäeger occasionally passes out on the living room couch. Usually it's after a few hours of binge watching tv he likes. Eren has no idea how he does it & he's always a little flustered waking up to realize his brother's capable of carrying his dead weight w/o waking him.

Marriage

Zeke: *walks into the living room, sits down on a chair, and places a small chest on the table, looking at Eren*

Eren: What?

Zeke: If I proposed to you—without our little detail—what would you say?

Eren: That I would say yes.

Zeke: Okay.

Zeke, Eren: …

Zeke: Will you marry me?

Eren: Yes.

Zeke: Good. *He takes out the ring and slips it onto Eren’s ring finger, then puts his own on.*

Eren: *looks at the ring* Wait—wait a second, did you just propose to me?

Zeke: Yes, and you accepted.

Eren: But—

Zeke: Shut up, you’re my husband now.

Eren: But—

Zeke: Husband.

Eren: That’s—

Zeke: Mine, my husband. End of discussion.

Eren: I want a divorce.

Zeke: Sorry, until my fiftieth birthday that’s not an option.

Eren: You’re 34.

Zeke: Exactly. Until I’m 50 I’ll prove to you that I’m the best husband of all, so you won’t divorce me.

Eren: That’s ridiculous.

Zeke: But you like it.
