I already answered 18! (But I posted it again for you, just in case. :D )

18. What does Ryder do in their spare time? What are their hobbies and interests? Do they share these with their friends, or are they more private?

Yumi loves movies, old or new, good or bad. It really doesn’t matter to her. So, Liam’s mutual love for the cinema has been refreshing. It was the closest thing to having her brother around because that was how they always ended their days as kids, especially if Scott had been off training his biotics, with a terrible movie that one of them decided to inflict on the other. She enjoys puzzles and tech as well, harkening back to her interest in the Remnant tech that they are encountering. She really wishes she had more time to explore that, research it. She’s rather jealous of Peebee for getting that luxury. At the end of the day, Yumi tends to enjoy interacting with people, and spending time with them, as a social butterfly of sorts. So, she’s always content to share her interests and hobbies with the crew, or spend time with them on their hobbies. Like Gil, and his poker. She’s going to beat him one of these days, so help her God. And it won’t be with SAM’s help.

Yumi does have a hard time saying no to things that she wants to do, for good or bad. It’s actually part of how she ended up experimenting with certain illicit substances as a teenager, and why she has a penchant for drinking. If her id says yes, there is a strong chance that will be her answer too.

19. How do they feel being in command of the Tempest? Whats their favorite part of the ship? Least favorite?

It’s terrifying being in command of the Tempest, being looked to for all sorts of decisions. And the fact that she has to just go with it? Especially after Habitat 7 and Cora expressed every ounce of doubt that floated through Yumi’s head? Fuck, she has to just do her best, and hope that nothing explodes because of it. It’s a good thing she’s really good at faking it, right? Maybe they won’t see that she’s some kid in over her head, every step of the way.

As far as the actual ship goes, there’s not much about the ship that she doesn’t dislike. It’s actually quite the cozy home, and it’s really terrifying that it started to feel like home, even without Scott, or her dad, or anything resembling the kind of life they’d thought they’d have in Andromeda. But the ship, and the crew, they are like her new family. The only thing she doesn’t like is the actual “This is what it takes to run a ship” part of the ship, but apparently, Cora is good with that. So is Vetra, and they are more than eager to kind of take charge there, and do that. So, all is good! Yumi just wishes they could just fly around the galaxy for awhile, and look out the window to her quarters at the Heleus cluster as they discover new things.

Alexis Shepard, 9 and 11

(It seems that Alexis Shepardfrom Persephone Rising was in the forefront, so this will be slightly differentthan Everything’s Not Fine’s Alexis Shepard.)

Alexis wasn’t really a hugger. Perhaps it had something todo with the more sterile upbringing that she had. The Captain was never one toshow affection by actually hugging her child, and where her father was… Well,it was best understood that physical affectations were not something to expectfrom her. There was a reason her biotic nickname, Ice, was rather appropriate.

That wasn’t to say that a hug was unheard of. They were justexceedingly rare – even more so if she initiated them.

Those brief moments, were always that, brief. The armorwould come down, and arms would wrap around the shoulders of her friends,holding them close. Then, without missing a beat, she would take a step back,and the shields would be back in place.

There was never a moment that she could think where she letherself wrap her arms around someone else, and just let them hold her tight, asshe buried her face in their neck. To seek the comfort and warmth. The love.

A smile. A real smile.

That was how you could tell when she was letting herself besomething more than just the CO. It was thecrack, the seam.

It wasn’t a big smile. Just the slight crack in the façade,the mask, the armor.

The soft curl of her lips, the way her eyes would light up –just enough to know.

They were like a tiny secret, a small privilege for the few.Those given the chance to see the posture relax, the even rarer joke.

A few times, they were for her girls. For Ella, or Meg.

But the best… was the one he’d get when he’d catch her fromacross the room. And there would be no words.

Just that smile.

27. Is there a ship you’ve shipped for most of your life?

Han & Leia. I can't remember a time when I wasn't in love with their story and I didn't sigh over that first kiss. Or compare most guys, fairly or unfairly, to Han Solo. Which is appropriate, I guess. Hubby did the same with Princess Leia. Good thing they were our main formative influences I guess.

28. Does shipping come easily to you?

I'm a hopeless romantic. It comes a little too easily. I tend to see hetero ships than m/m or f/f though. But I'm seeing those more easily than I used to.

29. Do you need to ship something to really enjoy a movie/book/tv show/comic?

It contributes to the enjoyment... but I don't necessarily have to have one. Like at the moment, I'm not seeing a whole lot of evidence of a Tauriel/Fili romance in The Hobbit. A one-sided infatuation on his part... sure.... Not too sure she knows how she feels.

30. Name a couple of fandoms in which you have no ships.

Probably the X-Files. I wanted to like Scully and Mulder as a couple... But, they didn't really have a lot of heat, just mutual respect and... habit. And then when they finally did get together -- nothing changed. Not a damned thing. So, no. No shipping there.

BSG: Can I wish they hadn't bothered to put Starbuck and Apollo together?
