Friday Foster was released on 25 December 1975.
Adapted from the comic strip created by Jim Lawrence and Jorge Longarón, the film was scripted by Orville Hampton and directed by Arthur Marks (Hampton and Marks had worked on episodes of Perry Mason, as well as 1973's Detroit 9000).
Mark was reunited with Pam Grier, Thalmus Rasulala, and Carl Weathers, who had all appeared in Bucktown (released in July 1975). This was Grier's 4th and final film for American International Pictures, where Grier had started as a switchboard operator in 1967.
