.never mind
The morning shift wasn’t even halfway through, but the morning rush had long since passed, students and office workers having come in to grab a pastry and a cup of coffee to get them going. Seokjin was used to it, used to slipping past his coworker behind the counter, one of them taking orders and handing over baked goods, while the other made the drinks. It was efficient and smooth every morning, and was one of the reasons the cafe was so popular. Some faces were familiar, as they came in every morning, as if the cafe visit was a fixed part of their schedule.
The little cafe was almost like a second home to Seokjin, the walls covered in polaroid pictures of people who’d visited on special occasions, or celebrities, or people who’d celebrated their birthdays there. The cafe was cosy, or at least Seokjin liked to think so, with the little banquette booth seating by the wall, the little tables scattered around, pretty potted plants, flowers and succulents littering the shelves on the walls and empty surfaces. It was s sort of organised clutter - it gave the place a cosier feel than a minimalistic place. It all added to the reason Seokjin loved the cafe, and had for years now.
Adjusting the neck loop of his apron at the back of his neck where it had begun to rub at the nape he made his way back to the counter, cloth with which he’d been cleaning the empty tables in hand. As he slipped behind the counter the bell above the door tinkling. Placing the cloth in the sink he turned to greet the customer with a friendly smile - however as his eyes fell on the familiar face his smile wavered for a moment, before widening. “Jimin! Long time no see!”
