Is Ash Costello still engaged to Jimmy Trigger or have they split up?
I was recently blessed with the opportunity to not only see New Years Day, In This Moment, & Halestorm live on the very last day of their tour, but I was also graced with my 2nd chance at meeting Ash Costello from New Years Day! I was so excited that I wanted to make a cover in her honor!! (I’m more surprised than anything that Ash recognized who I was!! And she showered me in compliments about my makeup & my hair & I just melted like a popsicle stick on a hot summer day).
Before the show, I actually managed to run into Jimmy Trigger (aka Ash’s fiance), & I gave him a flash drive that I had intended to give to Ash with my Hello Darkness cover on the drive along with other covers & originals that I had been working on for the last 6-8 months. Everyone whom I was going to see that day at the concert (Ash, Jimmy, Lzzy Hale, Maria Brink, etc) all inspired me musically through a really dark time when I was almost ready to give up on myself. And especially after meeting Ash & Jimmy the first time, I felt more drive than ever to get back on track with creating, writing, & recording music. So I basically gave Ash & Jimmy a flash drive of my work to thank them for their influence in my life as a musician.
The beauty of listening to this cover is knowing how wildly different my life is from one year ago, & having that reminder that you should always persevere in your dreams & never give up because it does get better.

you stumble into the kitchen to pour yourself a cup of coffee. you had not long broken up with your boyrfriend Ashley Purdy from Black Veil Brides. it wasn’t working out, mainly because he was always at the bar after rehearsals and never spending time with you. you loved him you truly did but you couldnt be with someone if they didnt care enough to come home to you. you had been thinking about him ll the time but always ended up crying.the moments you did spend together were perfect and you couldnt ask for anything better. you hadn’t actually managed to delete his number from your phone either.
sitting down on your grey and black couch you put the tv on and watch Rick and Morty. you pull a blanket over your now shivering body and sip your coffee. you hear your phone ringing in the bedroom so you get up off of the couch and walk to the bedroom. before you could get there it stops ringing and a voicemail is left.
“y/n i know you probably dont want to talk to me right now but i just need to talk to you. please call me back when you get this.”
your eyes were threatened with tears as you stared blankly at your phone.you fell to the floor now with tears streaming down your cheeks creating a puddle on the floor.your phone dropped from your hands, but luckily didnt break, and you tried to become calm again. just hearing Ashleys voice made you break down. you hadnt left him at the best of times so you knew you had to talk to him to sort it out but you just didnt think you were ready yet.
you pick your phone up off of the floor and walk back into the living room to carry on watching Rick and Morty. after it finished you turn the tv off and washed your cup up. walking into the bedroom you once shared with Ashley you pull out some black skinny jeans, an Avenged Sevenfold band tee, black studded boots and a leather jacket.you put on a beanie as your hair was messy and got your back pack. you messaged your best friend Ash Costello (from new years day) seeing if she wants to meet up. you got a reply almost straight away.
sure thing just come to mine when you’re ready

you get in your car and drive to Ash’s house. you pull up in the drive way and get out. you didn’t even have to knock before she opened the door and came running towards you to give you a hug. you hadn’t really gone out since the breakup so she was excited to see you.
“how are you holding up?”
“by my legs”
“so you’re still your same old sarcastic self”
“what made you think i was gonna change?”
she laughed and then you walked inside. you saw jimmy with the cat and waved to him.
“hey y/n”
Ash handed you a drink and asked for you to tell her everything. you did and then you changed topic. you was telling her about your last tour and everything that happened.
“wait, so you were sleeping and killer decided to pour freezing cold water over you and then lay on you?”
“yeah, although he was drunk”

“is he still tyring to call you?”
“yeah”
you smile weakly and put your phone back in your pocket.
“let go shopping”
“ok where ar ewe going?”
she gave you a very serious but smirky look which you knew very well.
“Hot topic!”
you both shouted at the same time.
“ok lets go”
you drove as Ash’s car was still being repaired. you parked the car and got out. Ash hooked your arm and lead you towards the shop. you saw two boys outside hot topic headbanging as they were playing Bring Me The Horizon. one of the boys were filming it so im guessing they were doing it for fun. you walked in and then Jake, shop assisstant and your other best friend, came runnng over to you. he gave you a hug.
“are you ok?”
“yeah Ash thought we should come shopping to make me feel better”
he smiled at Ash and then went back to work. you looked through everything and then bought some band tees. your phone started ringing again so you looked at Ash.
“answer it he isnt going to leave you alone if you dont answer”
“you sure?”
“yeah”
“okay”
you took your phone out of your pocket and answered it
“Ashley”
“y/n i know you dont want to talk to me but i need to talk to you”
“are you drunk?”
“no”
you could hear the guys in the background shouting at him
“guys shut up im on the phone!”
“look if now is not a good time then phone me later and then we can talk”
“can you come over?”
“when?”
“now”
“im with Ash at the minute, i’ll come over when i’m finished”
“ok”
he ended the call so you went back to Ash who was taking pictures with some fans. they gasped when they saw you
“y/n we love your band!”
“thanks”
they walked off so you and Ash got back in your car and went back to her house.
“right im going to love you both and leave you. i have to sort the mess out “
“and by that you mean go and sort things out with Ashley?”
you nod slowly and look at the floor
“just make sure he doesn’t break your heart otherwise i’ll break the next important thing in his life that isn’t you. his guitars”
you smile and walk out. you sat in your car and put some music on whilst driving over to Ashley’s house. when you arrived you noticed Andy and CC’s cars on the front so you guessed they were still there. you got out of your car and locked it. you walked to the door and hesitated before knocking and waiting for someone to answer.
Andy opened the door. he had a beer in his hand and he was slurring his words so you knew he was drunk. you just hoped Ashley wasn’t.
“y/n’s here!”
the boys all cheered except one. you knew Ashley probably would be drunk and most likely being stupid but when you walked in you didn’t see Ashley. CC was the only one sober
“hey y/n he’s in the kitchen”
“thanks CC”
you walk into the kitchen to see Ashley with his head on the table and you noticed a puddle beneathe his arm. he looked at you and you could tell he was crying. you had never seen him cry so you didn’t really know how to react.
“Ashley i’m so sorry”
“you dont have anything to be sorry for. it’s me who should be apologizing, i was the one getting drunk everyday and not spending time with you. i was the one who caused this relationship to end.”
he stood up and walked closer to you. you gave him a hug and to be surprised he actually wasn’t drunk.
“i never thought i’d see you cry though”
“i never thought you’d tallk to me again”
“of course i would talk to you again i just wasn’t ready before”
he hugged you tighter and you frowned
“is this how it’s been since it ended?”
“yeah”
“oh im really sorry”
“can we try again?”
“yeah i just wanna spend more time with you that’s all im asking”
“i know”
he placed a kiss on the top of your headand you smiled.

2 years later.
Ashley’s p.o.v
y/n was at the studio recording with her band and i was at home. the past 2 years have been amazing. as promised i had scheduled times to go out and so did y/n although she only went to Ash’s house becuase she didn’t drink. i knew y/n had an upcoming tour so i just wanted to make sure everything was perfect between us before she left. the boys had been helping me plan this and also Ash had helped a bit. the guys were in the garden wrapping the lights around the trees and setting a candle trail. Ash and jimmy were in the kitchen cooking food and i was setting the blanket out on the grass along with some wine glasses and apple juice. my phone was ringing inside so i ran to get it
“hey babe. im on my way home”
“okay love you”
“love you too”
i put my phone on charge and helped more as she wasnt that far away. everyone was going to hide and surprise her. we finished putting everything in place and then they all hid. i sat on the couch and waited for y/n to come in the door. her car pulled up on the driveway so i stood by the door ready to cover her eyes. she opened the door and walked in. i stood behind her and put my hands over her eyes.
“hey to you too”
“hey” I led her outside and counted down to one
“three.....two.....one! surprise”
she was speechless and happy.she turned to me and smiled
“you did this for me”
“yeah”
“thank you”
“welcome”
she gave me a hug and sat down on the blanket.

time skip an hour or something like that.
“why did you do all this?”
“because you’re going on tour soon and that means we wont be able to see each other for a few months and i wanted to make sure everything was perfect before you left”
“it is perfect”
“almost”
she gave me a confused look whilst i got her present from the kitchen draw.
“ashley what’s that”
“y/n i know we didn’t start off in the best way but i want to make sure that when i die i die with you. will you marry me?”
“yes”
a tear rolled down her cheek as i put the ring on her finger. i went inside and got everyone.
“she said yes”
they all cheered and gave us both a hug
“so these helped aswell?”
“i couldnt do all this by myself”
she laughed and i couldnt have been happier
