Doanh nhân tỷ phú Jim Ratcliffe đang muốn mua lại Man Utd sau khi nhà Glazer rao bán câu lạc bộ. Năm ngoái Quỷ Đỏ đã thông báo rằng nhà Glazer đang “tìm kiếm các giải pháp thay thế chiến lược” cho câu lạc bộ

Ratcliffe là một người hâm mộ cuồng nhiệt của Quỷ Đỏ. Vào mùa hè vừa qua, có thông tin cho rằng ông quan tâm đến việc tiếp quản câu lạc bộ. Giờ đây Jim Ratcliffe đang lên kế hoạch chính thức khởi động mục tiêu của mình.

Trước Man Utd, tỷ phú Jim Ratcliffe cũng từng bày tỏ ý định muốn mua lại CLB Chelsea của doanh nhân Roman Abramovich tuy nhiên sau đó đội bóng thành London lại được bán cho Todd Boehly. Theo nhiều nguồn tin ông Ratcliffe đã có cuộc thảo luận với hai đồng chủ tịch CLB Man Utd là Joel và Avram Glazer vào cuối năm 2022.

Nhà Glazer đã công khai ý định muốn bán CLB thành phố Manchester từ trước đó. Nhiều nguồn tin của báo chí Anh khẳng định, giới chủ Mỹ mong muốn mức giá không dưới 5 tỷ bảng. Ngoài tỷ phú Jim Ratcliffe thì một số tập đoàn của Qatar và Saudi Arabia cũng quan tâm tới việc mua lại đội bóng có biệt danh Quỷ Đỏ này.
