The city was quiet at night—too quiet for your liking. You walked briskly down the dim sidewalk, clutching your bag tightly. You were supposed to meet your friend an hour ago, but she canceled last minute. Just your luck.
As you turned a corner, a group of shadowy figures stepped out of an alley, blocking your way. Your heart skipped a beat. Before you could even scream, they lunged.

The world darkened, unnaturally.
A pressure filled the air—like gravity itself had taken notice.
From behind you, a voice, calm and low:
“Step back. They’re not your problem anymore.”
You turned, and there he was—Sung Jin-Woo.
Black coat fluttering, eyes glowing faintly purple, and behind him… his shadow soldiers surged forward like a tide.
The threat disappeared in seconds.
He turned to you, as if making sure you were really unharmed.
“Are you alright?”
You nodded, trying to calm your racing heart. “Yeah. I think… I think you just saved my life.”
He gave a rare, faint smile. “Then I guess I’m doing something right.”
You looked up at him, realizing he wasn’t just powerful—he was quiet, protective… gentle in his own way.
“…Can I walk you home?” he offered.
Your heart fluttered, a faint blush rising to your cheeks.
You gave a small nod, a whisper of thanks escaping your lips.
His smile grew just a bit as he reached up, rubbing the back of his neck.
Without another word, he gently walked you home — step by step, by your side.
