Jindsey plots: Lindsey’s ex attacks her & Joe finds her at the hospital

“I’ll kill him for doing this to you.”

“I hate him so much for getting to us.  But I’m fine, Joe. I’m still here...you’re scaring me.”

“Sorry.  Sorry.. when I heard you screaming on the phone, I felt so helpless. I never want to hear you scream like that again.”

Scared to Face Reality || Jindsey (PAST)

Who: Joe & Lindsey Where: Southvale Hospital What:  Joe visits Lindsey at the hospital. When she’s allowed to go home, she seems hesitant; she tells Joe she’s scared to go home and he offers her to stay at his place.

Joe: [As he arrived back at the hospital after having been home to take a shower, he walked into Lindsey's room] Hey, you're all dressed up! I must say I've once been into the hospital for some very bad food poisoning, but you still look a million times better [he said, even in this moment not able to deny that whenever he saw her he was struck by her beauty]

Lindsey: [it had been a few days since the attack and her bruises were still bad. She turned and smiled when she heard Joe.] Well you are just handing out all the compliments today, aren’t you? Considering you’re the only one who has a shower and I needed a nurse to help me get dressed, I would say you’re lying. [she teased him but she couldn’t deny she was enjoying the compliments]

Joe: Oh yes, watch out or I'll tell you how you must be a thief because you stole all the stars to put them in your eyes [he smirked at her]. Now would I ever lie to you? I did need that shower though, you were right about wearing the same suit for several days. So... is this a I-am-going-home outfit?

Lindsey: [she gave him the biggest eye roll] Does that actually work on girls? That is so bad! [she laughed] Um, well, you did lie about being hungover all the time in the beginning. So maybe you are lying! You are looking much better with the shower. I see you didn’t shave but it’s okay, I kinda like this new look on you. [she nodded but bit her bottom lip] Yeah.. but I don’t really want to go.

Joe: Only the ones with pretty eyes [he winked at her]. Okay and I always lie if someone calls on my free day and asks if I just woke up. Oh yeah [he touched the one day beard with his hand] I thought I'd do that later. You like it though? Why not? Aren't you excited to sleep in your own bed again?

Lindsey: And that means me? [she shook her head with a smile] Oh, you’re not helping your case now. So you /were/ lying about how I look. [she laughed] Mm, or don’t do it later. [she reached out to run her fingers over his jaw] Ooh, it feels different but I do like it. I think you got hotter while I was in here. [she shrugged, not wanting to admit she was afraid of being home alone] Yeah.. I-I don’t know.

Joe: You do have beautiful eyes. Well, those are lies about myself. I wouldn't lie about you. [He gave her a little grin when she let her fingers run over his face] You're making it hard for me not to touch you when you look at me like that. You don't know? Are you ... scared to go home? With everything that's happened?

Lindsey: Well thank you. You like them more when I roll them at you too. That’s good to know. [she giggled and leaned in to kiss him, laughing at how his new beard tickled her face] Who says you can’t touch? [she looked away from him and slowly nodded her head] Maybe, yeah..

Joe: Oh yes, I love your sarcastic eye roll and your annoyed eye roll both equally as much. [He raised his eyebrows surprised when she kissed him] I don't want to hurt you [he said sincerely] Should I come with you? I can stay for a bit too?

Lindsey: I knew it! I use them a lot around you. [when she pulled back from the kiss, her hand still stroked his stubble face] You won’t. It doesn’t hurt as much anymore. [she knew her body was feeling not back to normal but she did miss him touching her] Oh.. you don’t have to do that. Maybe I’ll ask the doctor to stay one more day. Maybe I’m not ready.

Joe: You seem to, I hope these looks are just reserved for me. [As she pulled back from their kiss, he softly touched her lips with his finger] I can wait though [he said, even to his own surprise]. Why don't you come stay at my place? Just till you feel safe again.

Lindsey: You’re still the only one that annoys me. [she teased as she laid her head against his. She looked at him surprised by his answer] You’ve been waiting so long already. [she pulled away and sat down at the edge of the bed] Oh, I wouldn’t want to impose. I— I would appreciate it though.

Joe: It's just all to get your attention [he made up as if that was the real reason for the fact that he was generally not a very happy-dancing-person, but he also liked messing around with her sometimes to tesse her] It's been quite long, yes [he said as he carefully placed a light kiss on her neck] but that might just make it better when I can get you to say my name again [he whispered]. Of course not! I don't mind. My security system is really good. You'll be safe here. Stay as long as you want. I mean it.

Lindsey: You do it very well too. I think you do it on purpose now though. [she couldn't deny that she enjoyed what they had and she loved when he teased her] Joe.. [she let out a quiet gasp followed by a soft moan when his lips touched her neck] Oh.. I can't wait for that. You don't play fair sometimes, Joe. [she let out a breath and gave a smile] If you're sure. You do have a really good security system and it would be nice to have some company around that I feel safe with. Thank you Joe.. you don't know how much that means to me right now.

Joe: I cannot deny that [he said with a smile]. Mmm it's good you didn't get a meter for your heartbeat because then the doctors would come running in [he grinned as he placed another kiss down her neck] Maybe I could just give you very soft kisses everywhere tonight if that doesn't hurt. Of course I'm sure. We both know that house is way too big for me anyway. And Daniel will love it if you're there over the weekend - I'll tell him to be careful around you though. So .... more excited to go home now?

Lindsey: I knew it. [she gave him a eye roll, just to tease him] Mm, yes, that’s a very good thing. Or you might have had to sneak me out of here. [another soft moan escaped from her lips] Oooh.. I miss this. I.. I think that’s a very good idea. It won’t hurt.. it feels good already. [she smiled, enjoying how he was planning for her being at his house] Oh, I promised Daniel that I would built him that new train set you got him. Maybe you can help me with it? It’s okay, I don’t want to miss out on his big hugs. [she nodded] Yeah, a lot more actually. Is your driver driving today?

Joe: I think people would notice if I carried you out the window - my husband story already wasn't very believable. [He grinned when she moaned and stopped before it would get too much for her] I love the way you sound. I've missed this too. Just kisses tonight then. I'll behave very well. I can build it with him while you lay on the couch? You still need to rest. A hug from Daniel does cure every pain. He is, he brought me here so he's probably still nearby.

Lindsey: I don’t think these windows even open. Oh, you know they are still calling me Mrs. Vanderbilt? I blame you! [she frowned when he pulled away] You’re such a tease. Kisses when we get back to your place.. and you don’t need to behave. [she slowly nodded] I guess so, I don’t want him to be disappointed that I can’t help though. It really does, I know it’s going to make me feel so much better. Oh, good. Maybe you can keep those kisses coming then.

Joe: They're afraid guys like me would kidnap their wives. Oh they do? You should've used that for extra good service. [He grinned] Are you sure you want to give me permission not to behave? [He smiled] He'll understand, he'd already be very happy to show and let you approve everything - and I mean literally everything, your opinion is more important than mine if it's about trains. Ohh you want kisses in the back of the limo? I didn't know you liked the elite life that much.

Lindsey: You were able to get me a private room, which you didn't need to do by the way. I would say, this treatment was a first for me. I tried to use it for extra good service but the food was still terrible. I could use a really good burger right now. [she giggled] Yes, I'm very sure. I told you.. I miss you a lot. [she still looked disappointed] I hope so, I know I'm going to feel bad that I can't do it with him. He was so excited. But if you're there to help, we can do it together. Is someone jealous that Daniel likes my opinion more? [she teased with a wink] I don't like that life but sometimes, it's nice to use the extra benefits, right? Because I want that.. and more.

Joe: I always just prefer a private room myself, you don't have to act any way because you think someone else it's watching. And it's more quiet. I think even if you're a royal the food still isn't good. We can grab some burgers on our way home? [He smiled] I missed you too. Hey, it's okay, he's a big boy. I've told him some mean bullies hurt you so he has to be extra sweet to you - I hope you don't mind I told it like that. I thought about just telling him you fell, but I also didn't want to lie to him. He's one of the few people I just ... [he shrugged] I just want to be good with. And honest. Oh yes, I am so jealous, you're getting to play with all those toys while I always have to work! [he teased her] You can use any benefits you like. And more?

Lindsey: I'm just not used to the quiet part in hospitals. It's not like I get private rooms every time I was in the hospital before I met you. Mm, that sounds like a very good idea. [she was surprised at how honest Joe was in talking to Daniel about what happened to her] Oh.. no, of course. That makes sense. I don't want him to feel afraid though. A fall wouldn't exactly explain all these bruises and broken bones maybe. Maybe he'll actually snuggle with me this weekend then. [she reached up and cup his cheek] You're such a good father, Joe. It's all work and no play with you sometimes. Well, this weekend, you're all ours. No work, okay? [she laughed] Oh, can I now? Well, you know the stuff that usually happens after kissing. That's the kind of more I was looking for.

Joe: Not? If I saw a girl as beautiful as you I'd give you anything you want. We'll pick up some burgers on our way home then. [He frowned a bit, afraid he maybe should've asked her how to explain to Daniel] I kept out the part where it was an.. attack. Just told him it was bullies, that's more on his level, you know? I think he'll be extra sweet to. Linds... that's - I appreciate you saying that. I just need to keep this company running well. But okay, I'll work a bit extra this week so I've got the weekend for you two. [He grinned at her] Oh yes you can, any benefit you like. Well we can do a lot of stuff after kissing in the car, and around the house...

Lindsey: Wow, you really are just handing out those compliments. But I know you, you wouldn’t hand your money out to just anyone in a hospital. You really are the best, especially if you stop at that place down the road from the office. It’s good that he doesn’t know it was.. like that. [she felt herself getting a little emotional] I still can’t believe.. this.. happened. [she made sure that he keep his focus on her] I mean it. Daniel is so lucky to have you as his dad and that he has someone to look up to that works so hard. The company is running well, you prove it to me a few days ago with those calls. [she smiled] So I think we kidnap your phone for the rest of the week and you can get it back on Monday, where I’ll have someone from the office collect some things and bring them by so that I can help you get caught back up like no time had pass. Just think of it like a mini vacation for you, me and Daniel. [she laughed] You don’t seem that worried anymore about if I get hurt.. so I’m in.

Joe: I have to do something to keep this marriage going, right? I'd hand out money if I think someone deserves it. Oh Next Door Burgers, I always used to order there when working late. Hey.. [He laid his hand on hers] It's gonna be okay, okay? You're going home with me now where you're safe and will be spoiled till you feel better. Ahh, just stop, I don't know what to say when you compliment me like that. I care a lot about him though, I hope I'm setting a good example. ... Well do keep an eye on my phone if anyone important calls, okay? And no work for you, I said you were on paid time off. [He smiled] Well I'll still try to be careful but with the good things you offer me I can't refuse...

Lindsey: Oh, are we still married even if you’re taking me home? Really? I’m learning all your late night secrets! [she nodded and gave him a smile] I know, I know. Thank you again for letting me stay with you for a little bit. Spoiled though? I don’t mind! [she shook her head] No, I’m not going to stop. All you have to say is ‘thank you Lindsey, I appreciate you saying that’. You’re setting a wonderful example. He talks about you all the time when we play with his trains. [she puts her hand out for his phone] Phone please. Mmhmm, yes, I’ll let you know. [she already knew she was going to turn it off so she had his full attention] But, it’s only to help you get caught up. I can do it from bed too, so long as you’re there beside me! [she laughed] Good thing I know I won’t break. Now I can’t wait until we get home but first, kisses in the back of that limo of yours.

Joe: Well at least till we get outside the hospital. I always ordered to bring it to the office though. Imagine if I had gone there, maybe we would've met much sooner. No need to thank me, I actually like the company. Did you know I have a heated bathroom floor? [He sighed at her] Oh Lindsey, thank you so much, I appreciate it. Does he say good things about me? [He checked his messages once more before handing it to her] And if it's important I should probably answer it, okay? No work for you lady, but I can work next to you in bed. Come, let's check you out of the hospital and go home.

Lindsey: Okay, /husband/. You’re the one who has to take care of me when we get home. That’s no fun, eating while working alone. Guess you’re so lucky now that you don’t have to eat alone anymore if we have to work late. [she gasped as a tease] I had no idea! Only in your room? Because if that’s the case, I’m sleeping with you. [she rolled her eyes playfully] You’re welcome Joe. He says great things about you. He adores you. [she takes his phone and turns it off before putting it into her back pocket] Of course, I’ll make sure you are there to answer it but only if it’s important. [she frowned] But I want to work, we have lots to do! [she wrapped her good arm around him and headed out the door with him] I can’t wait.

Joe: Oh I will till you tell me to stop bothering you. [He shrugged] I've done it a lot. Now it will be better with you. Well actually the one from the guestroom too, but if you won't sleep with me then I'll say it's just mine. [He gave her a little smile] I know it's not the family situation we had in mind from the beginning, but I think Care and I have given him a good family to grow up in. [He frowned a bit stressed when she took away his phone] Telling me we have lots of work to do doesn't help when you take my phone!

Lindsey: That might happen sooner than we both think. [she teased] Well this time we can take them back to your place so I can finally eat some real food again. Hm, maybe I should just sleep in the guest room since you’re so territorial of your bed sheets and I still get a heated floor. No sleeping together though. [she nodded with a smile] He loves being able to have quality time with both you and Caroline on your own. You both just want what’s best for him, any good parent would. [she leaned up and kissed him to calm him] Work that can wait until next week now. Don’t start stressing out. Take me home? I’ll keep your mind distracted.

Joe: I think that's very possible [he admitted with a grin]. Are you sure the hospital served actual food and not just everything in pudding form? I'm not territorial of my bed sheets! I just get cold at night. If I get an extra blanket will you sleep with me? Just sleep, no extracurricular activities. [He nodded] We do. Sometimes I've felt guilty because if someone else had - ... - nevermind it's, it's good like this [he said, almost having said that he felt guilty because if another couple had adopted him, maybe he would still have two parents who were together]. He gets to see both of us and Caroline and I are on good terms too now so he even gets us both at the same time sometimes like his birthday and Christmas, I think he's happy. [He kissed her back without protesting] You're already trying to distract me. But okay, come, before they decide they want to keep you.

Lindsey: It felt like it could have been pudding form. They gave me jello that barely moved. [she laughed] You’re territorial, Vanderbilt! Hm, no I won’t.. just because I want the extracurricular activities as you call them. [she was confused by his answer when he brushed something he clearly wanted to say away] You both make the days you have him special and he loves that. You’re doing great. [she grinned against his lips after giving him another kiss] My plan is working. No work for you. [she signed her release papers, with the name Mrs C Vanderbilt] So where’s your driver?

Joe: Are you sure you weren't just trying to eat the food bowl? [He teased her] Only a little, I need those blankets to keep warm when you always try to warm your cold feet on me. You know the doctor provided you to rest, right? And I don't think I can go easy on you because you always make me so wild [he whispered to her before he kissed her as a thank you on how she talked about Daniel] Till Monday, not forever. [He tried to keep a pokerface when he saw her signing the papers] Oh I couldn't call him because you've got my phone. ...... I texted him to wait at the entrance though.

Lindsey: I hate you sometimes. [she rolled her eyes at him] I definitely do not do that! But I can’t help that I’m always cold and need you to help warm me up. The doctor said to rest and try to get back to normal activities as soon as I’m feeling up to it. Oh.. oh. Ooooh. Saying things like that doesn’t make me want you any less. Maybe we can just take it slow the first time. [she shrugged] Or longer than Monday. Maybe I just want to keep you in bed with me. [she rolled her eyes yet again at him at her having his phone] Good.. let’s get out of here. I don’t think I told you this but I hate hospitals.

Joe: Oh, I know that, you have so many feelings for me. Oh yes you do, I felt those cold feet on my stomach the last time! Maybe I should have just asked if we could have sex again [he teased her] So are you feeling up to it yet? We could take it real slow. And real long. And real good [he grinned] I'll go search for my phone if I don't get it back by Monday. [He took her hand and guided her outside] I think you didn't. But good thing I'm here now and I don't want you back there anytime soon.

Lindsey: Yes, those annoying feelings. Hm, I don’t recall that. I must have been so tired that night or maybe you just put my feet there! [she rolled her eyes and laughed] The patient says yes, doesn’t that count more? Mm, that sounds really nice. We have the rest of the day to enjoy each other. It will be hidden by then so you can’t find it! [she followed him outside and smiled as the sun hit her face] Yes, you are. I’d actually like to never come back here again.
