The High Cloud Quintet members noticed these things, but you hadn’t. So eventually, Yingxing and Dan Feng came to you, clumsily wording their invitation in a way that was clear enough for you to understand, no doubt was left. This day was a happy day for the three of you, becoming more than just friends.

The Emanator of Abundance, Shuhu, was stronger than the group anticipated. Jingliu’s sword was cracked, this one was designed by Yingxing, so it should not have been broken like that…this is the proof of an Emanator’s strength. Shuhu was bored with the fight, and Jingliu couldn’t use her sword, so Baiheng stepped in.
No one could have predicted that Yaoshi would have an attack type Emanator. Shuhu killed Baiheng, not instantly, but drawn out painfully since Baiheng could last a bit longer than a regular human– she was a foxian. Still, a longer life doesn’t guarantee not being ended.
Jingliu held the fallen foxian. You knew she loved her so much, that they ran the Quintet together as co-leaders. You had given them space, there was not much else you could do.
“Yingxing!” Dan Feng called, catching your attention then. You realized two members were being lost.
Well, almost.
Selfishly, the vidyadhara ripped out one of his hearts, he could live with only one, it takes much more to kill a chosen one of Long the Permanence. He just couldn’t stand the thought of losing someone else, the way they lost Baiheng. If only he could bring them back to life.
That’s how he became a sinner.
Dan Feng was the last to be lost, and he went not knowing Yingxing would hate him forever for what he did.
Dan Feng went not knowing his next life would be hated and reminded of him. When a vidyadhara reincarnates, past lives and present ones are no longer the same person.
That’s what would make this sting. Everyone remains their selves in the Quintet, everyone except for Dan Feng.
