Apparently it's 2026 so of course Metallica has an official quiz about which reload song are you
And I'm not complaining, I love this song, I love bouncing around the house while listening to it,,, and it's not a lie,,,,,, but I fucking laughed so hard BC sure, that's how you can spin it to make it a compliment on someone that gets this as a PERSONALITY TEST.

The ones that are missing it's because there is no need to convince or are actually all around well loved.
I want the reload song that you'd WANT to be actually well loved and given for granted, on the altar of metallica "man, I wish ppl recognized its value more" songs.
Hey Jinn! I'm freshly back from the Metallica show in Budapest (the Friday one) and I'm very happy to report that Lars was in an extra silly goofy mood the whole time! I hope there's footage of it so you all can see, but I did think about how I should let you, the resident Ulrich enthusiast know once I got back that our Danish gremlin man had a great time! And so did we!
👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀
I'll keep an extra eye out for vids, and if you find some, feel free to send them my way!!!
How was it?? I mean, clearly you had a ton of fun but,,, HOW WAS IT?
I love concert tales, spare some memories? For lil jinn?? To keep me going till London?
giggly drunks OR ‘deep chilling’ . whatever that means 🙄
Them watching the TV on the couch of the Carlson house and then James using the theme of whatever they'd seen for lyrics inspiration.
The thing that makes me sweat is that 'making dinner'. The two of you? Cooking? From the guy who admitted in his 60s that he only can do a 'mean omelette?
Normally I'm kind of immune to people others describe as charming but I've been in Lars' actual personal presence twice and immediately got endeared to him and I have to admit I'm starting to find him cute, Jinn, I am afraid I've been Ulrich'd, as the expert, what do you recommend as the next course of action?
prepare a folder in your phone and get ready to smirk to yourself a lot while looking at his face doing stuff bc the man does like to emote. If you are of that inclination, you'll end up with whatsapp stickers of the man.
what i actually recommed is-- get to "know him" outside metallica. Like, listen to some of his interviews, and i mean the one where he is the interviewer, he is GREAT! But also the ones where he doesn't talk tallica at all, he presented the movie Amy, he did this very chill and video where he shows you what he bought
>>>>> get to know the fanboy outside the metallica fanboy!
the beauty is that Lars just says yes to shit (...well, used to, but we are not getting into that) so there is also him in a fucking cooking podcast!!!! HE DOESN'T COOK!!!! But it looked fun to him, why say no? let's go, i can do a mean omelette and that's it, now the host has to find a way to make me talk for the rest of the episode, fun times!
or start with the standard! here's a chicca for you: lars rating metallibutts
(now,,,, this is gonna be a long answer to what you've actually not asked <3 welcome to the blog dfhsdkfjhsdkfjhsk)
this answer comes to you in 3 parts! (if you get the reference, ily nerd)
Lars Ulrich is actually not charming, by the general expected standard. Nowadays, i think the most apt word would be "personable". BUT to /me/ his charm is being absolutely himself to 1000000. Meaning that he doesn't hide his quirks, his silly faces, the way he speaks, the way his hands speaks, his sarcasms, the exaggerations, he pouts, he interrupts, he puts his socked feet on the console, he eats while filming, he clarifies and he will not let go till he does, he fingerwags, he repeats himself at nausea, he will answer your question in 5 minutes rather than with 5 words etc etc. Usually that's not what others would describe as charming tho. to me it is bc he seems real (as in of course it's always a persona bc he is working and when you work you are inevitably a specific version of yourself, but he is not a character that doesn't exist, it isn't 99% made of things he would never say/do *insert parasocial mea culpa bullshit*)
bogi,,,, the truth is you are not alone.
It's been super funny to me bc-- I have my own peculiar intro to tallica and lars, as anyone else, yeah? And i generally liked him from the start, I vibed with him, but i quickly discovered that it wasn't much liked by the general fans (the state of yt comments section in 2011/12 guys............). And i get why, he has a certain type of personality etc etc, the FUNNY thing was that that I found a lot, A LOT of people who used to hate him........ and then met him and it was over after that. One meeting with Lars Ulrich and boom.
I'm sure there are some tales out there about meeting him and him being a jerk (mostly from the late 80s early 90s, from what ive seen), but the excessive majority???? everyone says he is very personable and interested and engaged etc etc. and I must say that after DM, but especially after HTSD I've seen more and more people being unabashedly Lars enthusiasts (shout out to the two girls and best friends who had matching lars love banners in the pit in london). Like, can you IMAGINE people going around with "Live Laugh Lars" tshirt in 2010? the LARS WAS RIGHT sign keeps coming back too (and im not opening that can of worms, do not engage, it's just an example)
3. Now, I am not immune to parasociality, but I am mostly immune to celebrity culture, meaning that it's apparently easier for me to remember they (famous people in general) are normal people than most fans. Example: there was this HQ event during jits (you can also see it in SKOM) where club members went and got a tour of HQ and ate with the guys and there was this person who was talking about how normal and chill and down to earth metallica were and to give AN EXAMPLE, they talked abt the fact that they were seated near Lars, Lars spilled something on the table and... simply picked up a napkin and wiped the table. Awe. Amazement. He is such a nice guy!
dfhkjfhjkfhsjdkfhsjkfhfjkshdk hello??????? he cleaned up a spill? what else was he supposed to do? this surely isn't your case, but it always makes me laugh when people think that lars is so much divorced with reality that he cant use a fucking napkin by himself hdjkfhdksjfhdskjfhsd
