Wild

Ray led a structured life. While others thought his job was unpredictable, it wasn't really - some anomalies popped up here and there, but most days he knew everything about everything and was suitably prepared. His home was organized and everything had its place. He led a structured life.

And then he met her.

She was his polar opposite. She was a hurricane in a human form. To her defense, she tried...she really really tried to organize her life, but she had so many thoughts in her head and so many ideas. It was like an internet browser of a student. Several tabs are open, everything is slowing down and suddenly there's some music playing in the background. She did what she wanted, when she wanted and that was that. She came into work one day, left a note on her bosses desk and took off. She needed a break, so she took the week off (she did however always bring her work computer with her, she was still an adult). She was scolded in the email she received soon after that, but to her defense…the work was done ahead of schedule.

That was the thing with her. No one knew how the hell she did everything with how chaotic she was. There was no logical explanation for the workings of her. All Ray and everyone else knew was that she was panicking all the time because she took it too easy in the beginning and then like magic everything was done on agreed upon time.

When the two met it was a clash of worlds. She thought he was uptight and funny with all his obsessive scheduling. Especially because their date lasted longer than he initially planned and was in stress when he realized how much time had passed. What she thought was funny he thought it was nerve-wrecking. She was all over the place, jumping from one topic to another. He was talking one minute about pancakes and suddenly the conversation moved to how her previous roommate was an insomniac. It was almost stressing watching her brain shift through so many connections and come out with a completely different topic than the initial conversation.

Yet there was something about her that pulled him in and kept him coming back. He felt as if the world and time stopped when he was with her. She brought some lightness to his life and everyday he returned home and she was there, he counted his blessings. In the back of his mind he knows that one day she’ll disappear, as she belongs to no one but herself. So for now, he plans to enjoy the little messes that she makes all over his house and life.

It was actually because of the quote above that I got the idea of this hurricane in a human form - besides you know, actually being one 😁
