jisun’s definition of hard seems to differ from most’s. truthfully, hyeyoung thinks she could have afforded to be a little more assertive, especially when it comes to situations like this. too many people take the kindness jisun has for weakness, and hyeyoung would sooner rot than let someone take advantage of that.
“you weren’t mean about it,” she continues, watching tendrils of steam rise from the hot bath at their feet. ripples form when she dips her toes into the water. it’s still a little too warm for her liking. “honest.”
hyeyoung smiles in the other’s direction, an act of (hopeful) reassurance. she’s learned that, sometimes, all people need is for someone to let them know they’re okay.
