Tonight was one of the most amazing #JIUJITSUNIGHTINAMRCA instructor Michael McIntosh was holding it down making sure the class adhere to the foundation of @renzograciebjj as taught to us by Professor @Edgarchutan. The rolls 6 of them. Michael with a watchful eye over everyone. And I missed it all. So why was today or tonight so amazing? Because, I made it in with enough time to say THANK YOU! And CLEAN, And PUT AWAY THE MATS! I did so with the smile on my face and a song in my heart. I know it sounds crazy. I went all the way to @renzograciebayridge to clean mats, and say thank you and I am happy that did, and ran around the city in pajamas and I did not even get in a roll...I must be crazy. Or I must be a man that on the day of his 45th birthday values the blessings that studying JiuJitSu has brought back into my life: It has first and foremost given my son and I a shared experience where he has already superseded me and I want that for him. I want him to know early in life that his shadow is meant to pass dad's. JiuJitSu has allowed me to love learning again and to be bad at something again. This is great! It is great because, I can only get better, but in order for that to happen, I have to show up and I have to work hard. I have to believe in my own mission and vision of my self as man, a father, and a complete Martial Artist (meaning if I have to put my life on the line I need the strongest arsenal of Martial Knowledge at my disposal). JiuJitSu has reminded me it is ok to care of my body for life because I plan to use as long as I can and so how I fuel myself and the supplemental training to be able to stay active I know put into practice regularly. Lastly, under @renzograciebjj banner and the tutelage of @Edgarchutan and @michaelmcintosh, I know what I am learning is battle tested by good solid men, warriors, 20th and 21st century Samurais, we have all traveled through different disciplines and road has lead us all to this one path and so for that it was important that I value all these gifts and make it in at the end of a long day even if I could not practice today, just to say #THANKYOU! #JIUJITSUSALVA! #MARTIALARTSAREMYLIFE! #IAMBLESSED (at Renzo Gracie Bay Ridge)
