Staring blankly at the girl for a few moments, Jiyong couldn’t help but to let out a laugh. Of course he was famous, in fact, he was probably the most influential artist in Korea. The girl’s choice of words caused a brief smile to etch onto his face, which wasn’t common when random fans—or strangers in general—recognized him. Perhaps it was just a lucky day to greet him.
Nodding his head, he spoke in a casual tone, “I generally go by Jiyong,” His signature playful smile appeared, “but, yes, I suppose I am famous.” Leaning forward slightly, he gave a small head tilt, “and you would be?”
It is surprising that she is even able to work the tiny sentence out of her mouth with the overwhelming anxiousness that claims her. No matter how many fansigning events she attended, the moment of meeting someone famous would always swiftly break down any sensibility she had left lingering within her mind. If not for the dire need to intake oxygen regularly, she was sure she might have ceased breathing entirely and passed out cold by now. With her rather unceremonious statement still hanging between them, she can do nothing but continue to stare at the man before her. His laugh creates a rapid build up of excitement in her that inches towards a state of absolute unresponsive astonishment and she struggles to communicate more than a few inaudible noises.
The casual way in which he addresses her does little to help the situation. It does not ease her anxiety or slow the millions of thoughts rushing through her mind at that moment. Instead, it makes her even more clumsy. In a hasty attempt to bow fully out of respect, she nearly ends up falling face first into the ground. Fortunately, a couple of wobbling steps forward stabilizes her balance once more enough for her to finally be able to speak. "I-I'm sorry. I know you must get this all the time and all, but I really can't believe that I'm even speaking to you right now. Or just seeing you right in front of me. And I didn't even have to pay or anything," she says, laughing a bit at her lighthearted humor attempt. "I'm Park Sojin. It's such an honor to meet you. I'm a huge fan. I have to apologize once more because I must seem pretty out of it. But I promise you, I'm not. I'm completely right in the mind. Just excited. I really admire you."
