haii!! i really liked the concept of your event and your fics so here we go!
i would like my match up from jjba, i’m a she/her straight girl in 15-18 age range, people describe me as a bit of a people pleaser, reserved, polite, caring, and morally just. however, with these, i can be a bit too consumed by emotions like guilt or shame or a little too uptight at times. i really like music, reading, drawing, etc. for fun i play the bass guitar and read either fiction or wikipedia articles (yes ik i’m a huge nerd for that). in a partner i would look for someone who i can support to grow as a person and that they would support me, in turn. specifically i would look for traits like a desire to help others, being loving, charitable behavior, and optimism. a huge pet peeve of mine is refusal to be empathetic. like wdym you’ll argue with me and not even TRY to see my side while i’m fighting for my life to figure out your thought process. or you won’t tip a server at a restaurant while having the funds to do so💔💔 you dk their financial situation lock in. also my mbti changes every time i take the test but i got isfj and istj most recently so i think those are close enough. my love language is probably acts of service bc i loveee taking care of people.💕💕
sorry, this was a lot but this was a very cool concept!!
⌗ MATCH THREE ੭ ⁺
you matched up with... JOSUKE HIGASHIKATA
both of you have a sense of justice, and those moral qualities would bring you two together. and though your personalities might come off as contrasting, the differences could serve as something that complements one another.
your reserved and polite attitude would serve as a way to balance his expressive behavior, acting as a calming hand whenever his emotions get the better of him, and a second-opinion before he decides to get into one of his mischievous activities.
in turn, his tendency to display his emotions openly and passionately would be a great way to get you out of your shell, easing you if he notices you be a little too uptight. he'd remind you that whatever emotions you feel are natural, while doing his best to regulate them.
josuke is a naturally empathetic person. his desire to help others even manifested into his stand. he isn't above getting himself hurt in order to save someone. your support in helping him grow as a person would be something he would eagerly reciprocate, and he'd provide any assistance you might need in anything.
through all your hobbies, he'd be right there to try it out for fun. he'd like to read whatever you are reading, curious in whatever caught your interest. josuke might not be too big of a music nerd, but if you ever play the bass guitar in front of him, he'd be your biggest fan.
josuke would love to be taken care of by you. he gets a little nervous and bashful whenever you do something for him, but he appreciates it a lot. his own way of expressing affection would be quality time, as for him, nothing is better than being around people you care about.
arguments rarely happen, as he values communication, and has a knack for finding out if someone is going through rough times. if they do happen, it never blows into anything big. he might struggle to apologize at first, but it never lasts more than a few hours before he's begging to talk things out. he knows how to be humble, and is willing to empathize and hear you out whenever.
overall, it would be a relationship built on your shared aspect of being morally just. your personalities complement and build on the other's, creating a balance within your lives. you'd be the other's biggest supporters, being there to help each other.
hanging out in one of your room's, chatting while he plays video games and you read.
walking home from and to school together, sometimes getting into bizarre encounters with stand users on the way.
pranking rohan together. he's the one who dragged you into it, but most of the time, you have to save him due to a floppy plan he made.
arcade dates in where he attempts to get high scores in order to impress you.
spontaneous sing-alongs. josuke would be—impressively better than expected—singing the lyrics while you play covers of songs on your bass guitar.
A screenshot redraw i did while rewatching jjba Diamond is unbreakable.
I mostly picked this one becuase, like, the harsh shadow make crazy kinda spooky. which i find funny considering how josuke's stand is usually silly or just stoic.
🦋 summary: you were an intern, for sm company and you would be going with their boy group to film a summer trip
🦋 warnings: nil
🦋 notes: i have not written an x reader in so long and watching riize's content made me feel like throwing josuke into the idol life since i am also rewatching part 4
It was strange, finally landing that overseas internship that you had always wished for, but at least you were granted it.
Having to prove your skills and outshine everyone else during the interviews was no easy work, especially considering the idol group that you would be touring with.
First Memory.
A K-pop boy group about creating memories everywhere. Their centre was a man named Higashikata Josuke. He was studying to be a nurse when he was scouted by SM company and thrown into the life of an idol.
You were now interning at SM company, as part of their video film crew for the idol group.
“Hey Y/n,” Your manager shouted, motioning for you to walk towards her. She handed you a stack of papers, asking you to read through them and get the idols in order.
Way to go… a foreigner interning in South Korea. You wonder how Josuke managed to do all that, while being the most popular member of the group. A Japanese member in a South Korean boy group.
Your first task of the day seemed to be waking up the 5 member boy group and getting them ready for their schedule of the day. Filming a summer special trip for the fans, it was a common content to film, to get the fans to engage.
One knock at the door yielded no answers. Maybe a second one would awaken someone? You knocked harder, repeatedly, until the door swung open to reveal a tall, broad shoulders man… in a singlet. You were all too familiar with that face.
Higashikata Josuke.
“Are you a fan?” His eyes narrowed. It was the first time you had seen his hair down, unstyled. Josuke was known for having one specific hairstyle that nobody was allowed to change, a high pompadour. Since he bought great money for the company, they chose to let it slide.
“No!” You replied. “I’m the new intern and uh…”
You fumbled your bag, looking for the documents with the information of what the group would be filming for the next 3 days. Josuke yawned as the other members were slowly waking up. “It’s here somewhere…” You muttered.
“It’s okay,” Josuke reassured. “These idiots are gonna take awhile to prepare anyway.”
Oh… It had taken you a while to find the papers, but at last, you did. Immediately, you handed them over to Josuke and composed yourself. He seemed impressed for a second, a smile as bright as a diamond had made it’s way onto his face as he saw your composure and read the instructions and the rough plans.
“I’ve never really filmed summer content before,” Josuke mumbled. “That’s just great. I was hoping to enjoy a few days. We will get ready… Uh… Your name?”
“Ah, I’m Y/n,” You answered as calmly as one could.
Josuke nodded, “Well Y/n, we will see you downstairs.”
With that, he gently closed the door and left you in the hallway of the apartment building. The next thing you had to do was making sure the vehicles were all ready, and the cameras were all in place and working.
Oh and the mics.
Well, you signed up for this and at least you’re getting paid. All in all, it wasn’t a bad gig. It had taken quite some time, but at last you got everything ready. Everything was rolling by the time the group made their way out of the apartment and into the public space where all eyes would be on them. The tallest, most striking figure of the group, Josuke, had always been what people paid attention to first. It was a no brainer, with that face and height.
“Ah, cars!” Josuke proclaimed, acting for the cameras before him. He knew too well how the industry had worked. “I wonder where we will be going today.”
The main dancer of the group, Jo Sangjun, stepped forward first and entered the first car. “Wherever we are going, better have good food.”
You were in the second car, in the front seat to monitor how things went. It was also your job to report back if there were to be any delays in the schedule, which thank goodness there wasn’t. Everyone managed to reach the destination as scheduled while generating enough content for fans to drool over, which was great. The destination was far away from Seoul, as you were all driving to Damyang, a county in South Jeolla Province that was known for the bamboo forests. It would be nice to visit that place, if you could. But you were at work.
It was your first official day and it seemed to be going so well already.
“Ah,” Josuke announced as soon as he got out of the car, the sun rays resting on his handsome face perfectly. “We’re here! Come on guys!” He called out to his members.
They all slowly stepped out of the vehicles and began roaming about the property that they were on. There were various games for them to play and engage with each other, opportunities to create content that the fans would consume. Cameras captured every possible angle they could. At 10pm, the shoot was finally over and the film crew could head to their own respective sleep quarters to rest.
The idol group had decided to take the time to do their own things, text their friends, check future schedules or sleep for the day. Josuke decided to take a walk around the area. You had decided to stargaze. It was rare for you to head out to an area like this and you had planned on cherishing every moment of it. South Korea’s light pollution wasn’t bad, but stargazing wasn’t perfect either. At least you could still see the stars blinking in the skies.
“Ah I thought you’d be sleeping.”
There Josuke stood, his tall frame right behind the patch of grass you sat on. He sat down beside you, in his simple pajamas.
“Ah,” Josuke commented. “The stars in Morioh are brighter.”
“Shouldn’t you sleep?” You asked. “It’s a long day tomorrow.”
Josuke laughed, “It’s fine. It’s not everyday I get to go out like this.”
“Why did you decide to be an idol?” You decide to question. You had heard that Josuke seemed to be doing great and had a promising future as a nurse.
Josuke shrugged, his head turned up at the sky with a small smile on his face. “Dunno. But its not so bad, the fans are crazy sometimes. My team’s great though!”
You nodded, one of acknowledgment. “Isn’t the schedule tiring?”
Josuke flashed a cheeky smile. “I was training to be a nurse, I am all my team needs for safety!” He proclaimed, pointing to himself with a smile as bright as the stars.
Of course, that made sense. Has he always had this carefree attitude? No wonder he was a fan favourite.
“Do you miss your old home?” You asked, curious, since you were also working in a foreign country. It would be nice to get some tips, no?
“Ah,” Josuke nodded, the smile still on his face. “It does get hard, I miss my mum and friends. This dumbass Okuyasu… Next year is the last year on the contract, I won’t be renewing. I’d like to return.”
“What did your members say?”
“Sangjun wants to pursue a professional dance career, but he also wants to go solo. Jaehee wants to act. Dohyun and Namgyu are gonna stay as a duo, they like the idol life,” Josuke explained, before realising that he had said too much to you. “You’re not going to tell anyone right?”
“Nope! I’d get fired!” You replied, shaking your head as Josuke sighs of relief.
“That’s great,” He said. “Well, its really late, we should head back.”
The young man stood up and held out his hand, signalling for you to get up too. You grabbed his hands and he pulled you up gently. “Thanks Josuke.”
The night had ended young as the both of you headed back. Small talk filled the air until the both of you had to go your separate ways into your own chambers. There was one more night until you return to Seoul and engage in post production work. Josuke and his group would have to prepare for a comeback and practice for the new choregraphies.
Josuke had overslept the next morning, though his one mistake can be weaponised as content. Despite oversleeping, Josuke still made it a point to style his hair before getting ready for the shoot of the day. The members all laughed and teased him for his tardiness and the dedication he had for that one specific hair style. You were behind the cameras, adjusting the angles and checking the audio. It all worked well, then you moved on to charge the back up batteries. Your job basically just had you moving around.
The plan for the second day was a few games, including one that would involve the group getting into water. It was a towable inflatable raft, the members would take turns getting on it. But their positions were determined by the games they’d have to play.
Unfortunately for Josuke, he had scored the seat on the far left, meaning he had the highest risk of falling into the waters if the raft swerved slightly towards the left.
“Ah,” He mumbled. “That’s just great.”
He was not at all happy with what he had ended up with, but he couldn’t do anything about it anyway. What choice did he have except to hope that he’d remain dry? You watched his actions through the monitor screen, his expression had cracked you up, seeing how upset he was. It was funny really, you could hear him mumbling about wanting to maintain his hair style even while under water, which led to more teasing from his members.
“Josuke!” Sangjun nudged his shoulder. “I might just push you if you’re still dry!”
A playful bicker erupted as they slowly got on the raft. There was a boat that the raft was connected to and it moved at such speed that the raft felt bumpy. Josuke’s face kept twisting from one of comfort to one of fear, his hands held on the grips tightly, so that he wouldn’t fall into the waters below and ruin his precious hair. However…
Splash!
“Ahh!”
In Josuke went into the waters below, followed by his members’ laughter. He had a lifejacket on him. He had to spit out some water he had accidentally caught in his mouth when he resurfaced. One of the workers went to retrieve Josuke with a motorboat. All Josuke could do was complain about his hair which was all over his face now. His eyes could hardly be seen until you handed him a towel to wipe his face and hair dry.
“Thanks, Y/n,” He said, with the towel still on his face.
“You’re still on camera,” You whispered. You’re going to have to cut the audio for this part during post…
Well it wasn’t so bad, you’re not the only editor around. But you were indeed the only intern slave around.
“Y/n!” Your manager summoned. This time, she ordered you to check on the meals.
At least she seemed happy with your work so far, it makes you feel a little better about earning pennies while doing hard labour. The catered lunch was on the way, reaching very soon. That was a relief, you were starting to feel a little hungry. As it seems, you were not the only one.
“I found you Y/n!” Josuke cheered, his loud voice nearly scaring the soul out of your body.
“What the heck?!” You yelled, but he only laughed and told you to relax.
“Your manager told me to ask you about lunch,” He said. “Sooooo, where’s the food?”
You had never seen someone’s eyes shine with such joy at the mere mention of food. This guy was like a teenager stuck in an adult’s body.
“It’s almost here,” You replied. “There’s ribs.”
The simple mention of ribs made Josuke look like he was going to float on air. It was impressive how the mention of certain food always makes idols look like they stumbled into pure gold.
“You’re gonna drool Josuke!” You laughed. “I gotta make sure the caterers don’t get lost or something, don’t you have to film?”
“Heh!” Josuke relaxed, both his arms behind his head as he stretched himself. “We get a break, and I’m really hungry!”
The both of you walked out and into the carpark, all the while Josuke kept talking about the food. He was beyond excited when the caterers finally arrived and helped you unload the items and bring it all back inside. Surprisingly enough, everything arrived safely, even though you swore you had tripped and dropped something, but it didn’t break.
Odd, maybe lady luck was on your side.
“Say Y/n,” Josuke mumbled as he moved the last dish towards the main hall. “Wanna sneak out tonight?”
“Sneak out?” You asked, bewildered by the suggestion.
Josuke did not seem phased at all, in fact, your reaction only egged him on. “Just for a short while, it’s the last night!”
“Fine,” You replied. “Just don’t get us caught.”
Josuke nodded confidently.
The night had washed over pretty quickly that day, perhaps it was due to your curiosity on what Josuke had planned. When everyone was sound asleep, you slowly walked out of your quarters and met with Josuke at where the both of you had been stargazing the night before.
“I booked us taxi,” He said. “I wanna go somewhere.”
Despite the darkness, you could see the nervous twitch in his eyes. Hm. Weird.
“Where?” You asked.
“You’ll see,” Josuke replied.
The taxi arrived soon after and he opened the door for you to get in. The dark and unfamiliar road had made you fearful of the unknown that lies within, and what on earth does Josuke have planned. Maybe you should not have agreed. The ride was silent as Josuke fell asleep halfway. But it wasn’t a long ride, you find that you recognised the area based on some tourist pictures you had seen online, there was no mistaking it.
It was the bamboo forest.
The taxi driver jolted Josuke awake when they arrived and Josuke promptly paid for the ride before escorting you out of the taxi. The place was locked at night, but Josuke broke the surveillance cameras behind your back and ushered you in. He could always fix it when they leave.
“How’d you know that I want to come here?” You asked.
“Oh!” Josuke replied. “I didn’t, but it's a famous place.”
“Of course, its so creepy at night though,” You commented. “I’d prefer it if we came during the afternoon. Are we even allowed here at this time?”
Josuke had brought a flashlight with him and shone the area as you two walked deeper. “Well,” He hesitated to answer, which told you everything you needed to know.
“Higashikata Josuke!” You yelled. “What if we get caught?! Isn’t this breaking and entering?”
His calm expression was going to drive you insane. How could he be this relaxed after committing a crime?
“Don’t worry,” He said. “I have a secret weapon. Just trust me.”
You frowned, doubt flooded your mind. It was hard to trust him in such a situation. Your mind only had one solution and one problem.
You punched Josuke hard in the face and ran. You had figured that he was going to kill you or something. It all added up in your head, but you could not be further away from the truth.
“Wait!” Josuke yelled.
“You’re planning to kill me! Aren’t you?” You shouted back.
“What? No!” Josuke protested. “I wanted to ask if you’d like to go out with me once we’re back in Seoul!”
What?
Oh…
You stopped running and turned back. Josuke was slowly walking towards you, his right hand holding the cheek where you had punched him.
“You were going to ask me that in a place like this?” You pointed out, it was absurd.
Josuke flashed a guilty smile this time. “Well… we couldn’t come here in the afternoon… I didn’t realise that now is also a horrible time, I swear I am not trying to kill you.”
You sighed, “You’re an idiot, but sure I don’t mind going out with you.”
Amidst the darkness and the bamboo, you could see the shining diamond that was Josuke’s eyes. Maybe he was a little crazy, but he didn’t mean harm. But he really was an idiot.
Since I'm taking a little break from doing the 30 days challenge I wanted to see if I could redraw my old art better, and oh my gosh.... he's so pretty...
