( Did she? The tiny whisper in the back of her mind nags, driving in the fears that she can’t fully shake. Did Adi really shape you into who you are? Is it Adi’s influence that has you questioning yourself more now than you did when you could rely on her guidance? Has Adi had anything to do with your perpetual tardiness -- you know she hasn’t; you see the disapproval in her eyes every time you walk in late. Have you even dared to ask her if she’s truly proud of you? Or are you afraid to because you know you’re not the person -- the Jedi -- she wanted you to be? ) 

The Jedi she’s become..... Another name comes to mind, quite suddenly. “ And Ferus. ” Perhaps it’s unusual for a Master to credit her Padawan for having an enormous amount of influence on her, but... it’s true. He’s gone now -- left, resigned, created a new life for himself on Bellassa, from what she knows -- but he’ll never fully leave her; he’ll always be her former Padawan... her brother. Even now, she can remember the way that feeling his signature in the Force for the first time had been like the golden warmth of a sun peering through the clouds after a storm. He taught her many things even if he hadn’t known it at the time; and that’s how the relationship between Master and Padawan should be, with both teaching each other. ( He’d reminded her of the goodness in the galaxy, with his eagerness, his intelligence, his desire to help. ) He’d taught her patience more than anyone else had been able to, he’d calmed her from the confused turmoil her mind had been in when they’d met. A small, fond smile ghosts on the corners of her mouth, remembering how much she’d cherished their time together. “ Yes, Ferus, too. ”
