   “ corrin - are you okay? “ he asks her.  “ would you like anything? a     drink? a snack? “ he would treat her like any of his other children,     and he felt that part of his heart throb, remembering each son and     daughter that no longer would open their eyes, no longer draw breath.

Honestly, with Marx, I can see his acquisition of his charger being similar to that of Alexander the Great - the story goes that Alexander tamed a horse, Bucephalus, that was thought impossible to tame, by soothing it and gaining its trust. Anyone else who had tried had failed, and Alexander had succeeded while being just a boy.

I can see Marx being in a similar situation as a young boy. He gained the trust of a horse that wouldn’t submit to any man, and the horse served him for many, many years, being a close companion to the man. Many came to say that the warhorse, whom he named Dieter ( a German name that means “ peace of the people. ” Tuls wanted me to name him Siegneigh ), was his closest friend, closer than most men got to be. For the better, most likely - the path of a crown prince is a lonely one.

Daken had made an alliance with the World Serpent, and it amused Romulus that the boy thought Jormungandr would honor that deal when Ragnarok came.
