HUGS for the WIP game!
Okay @deadbiwrites and @jjulyingg sorry this is a little late and @anon 😂 I will not be dragged for writing hugs into everything, extremely rude and the answer is every single one of them. Anyway here’s a snippet from the Hugs WIP: ------- It starts off innocently enough. They’re at Kara’s for a quiet evening in after one of the longest weeks either of them can remember. Kara’s already changed into comfy sweats and flopped onto the couch, and looking over at her, Lena’s not entirely sure she hasn’t already dozed off. Instead of waking her up again, Lena busies herself with her task in the kitchen. She’s gotten a couple bowls’ worth of snacks for Kara and some biscuits for herself, and the water is almost boiling for her tea. She opens the cabinet next to the fridge to look for Kara’s modest tea stash and spots it on the top shelf. Glaring briefly back at Kara’s snoozing form on the couch, Lena lifts onto her toes and reaches for the tea but finds it out of her reach. She sighs. “Kara.” No response. “Kara.” Lena waits another moment before rolling her eyes and reaching up on her toes again for the tea. It’s just out of her reach, and she lifts her knee onto the counter to climb up right as the kettle starts whistling. The kettle shuts off abruptly just as Lena’s pulling her other knee onto the counter, but then there are hands on her waist, and she’s airborne, briefly, until her feet are back on the floor. Kara presses warm and flush against her back, her hands heavy on Lena’s hips, and Lena’s breath stutters out of her, heart suddenly pounding when Kara tucks her head against Lena’s own. “Don’t climb on my counters,” Kara murmurs sleepily against Lena’s ear. “I don’t want you to fall off.” But Lena doesn’t hear her. All sound is drowned out by the feeling of every one of Kara’s curves pressed along her back. One hand skims up Lena’s side to brace against her rib cage as Kara lifts onto her toes behind Lena. Lena squeezes her eyes closed and tips her head forward, feeling Kara raise up and down against her as Kara reaches the top shelf easily and retrieves the box of tea. “Here you go,” Kara says cheerily, the sleep clearing out of her voice as she sets the tea down in front of Lena on the counter. Kara grins at her and swipes one of the bowls of chips before making her way back to the living room.
