Discussion?
Ok lads I was looking through spells and whatnot on the Harry Potter Wiki, and I came across Transmogrifian Torture. Here’s a direct quote: “ The Transmogrifian Torture (incantation unknown) is a curse that which presumably tortures its victims to death over time.”
It sounds like it’s almost a mix of the Cruciatus Curse and the Killing Curse, except more time consuming and gruesome as it seems to change “the shape of the victim to cause pain”. My question is, why isn’t this classified as an Unforgivable Curse if this is the case? It has a counter-curse (unlike the aforementioned two), but the Imperius Curse also has a direct method of defense, yet is still classified as Unforgivable. Is it because the three are instant and the Torture is over time?
