nonspoiler opinions on justice league
BvS >>>>> JL
i “liked” it… but i have complaints lol
zack’s touch was still there especially in the visuals
loved the opening credits for this one too (but bvs opening credits are still the gr8est ever lbr)
three major fight sequences in this movie with the league members. really liked one of them that i thought was on par with the ones in bvs. but again, for me the bvs scenes were >>>>> you can argue another one was pretty good but i only liked certain aspects from that one.
HANS ZIMMER AND JUNKIE XL SHOULD HAVE SCORED THIS ONE TOO AND IM V BITTER ABOUT IT. this one lacked any sort of additional emotional impact from the score which was such a bummer :(
and i think they only had 2-3 scenes that FAINTLY brought back previous themes. again im v bitter about it.
i hated this villain and everything about him.
WORST PART FOR ME: there’s a difference between “lighter tone” and overdoing it with cheesy lines and jokes every two seconds. i appreciated it like three or four times to make light of the new team dynamics, but it was still overkill for me. i can understand why they did this to appeal to the general audience but binch I LIKED the “darkness” of the dceu. and i liked that it was “too serious” and i liked that it dealt with themes that reflected the depth of the struggles and beliefs of the characters. they could have portrayed a “lighter tone” by expanding more on the change in mindset of the characters esp with bruce and diana which is what i expected and wanted but instead i got a half ass execution of that and 7 jokes per scene. smh.
anyways WHAT I LIKED: CLOIS AND SUPERBAT. i cant expand more w/o spoiling a lot of things but those parts pulled the emotional weight of the movie for me and we deserved more.
arthur was probably my favorite new member bc of his scene with mera in atlantis. VICTOR DESERVED MORE TIME AND EXPLANATION OF HIS RELUCTANCE TO JOIN THE LEAGUE!!! and tbh it would have mirrored clarks struggles in bvs so idk why they didnt expand more on that im so sad. barry was the constant comic relief which, again, i appreciated at first but then it was overkill. but all three new actors were great and i can see them all easily becoming fan favorites.
