Today Middle and I went shopping! First American Girl Place Orlando. The staff gushed over my mini-me - they said they had been trying to figure out who she was since we walked in, and they were very impressed with her hair and her eyes, so that was a nice bit of validation!
Middle's Molly met the store's Molly display:
And I have a new appreciation for the actual size and scale of Wellie Wishers, seeing them in person next to an 18" doll
After AGP we went into the mall to do a little more shopping, and then back to AGP for Kirsten's school outfit because I couldn't stop thinking about it and I REALLY wanted the book.
Then we went to Goodwill after new swimsuit for Middle, and while we were there I found my very first ever thrift-store AG doll!
She's a JLY 12. She has a PC neck stamp but she's a Mattel girlie; the neck stamp and zip tie gave her away.
I wasn't expecting to find a rescue doll this trip and I don't have my kit with me, but this girl will get a good cleaning and restoration once I get home.
All told, good haul today.
- Little Bitty Baby for me (because I decided if Kirsten is getting Lars, she needs Peter and Britta too but I don't want to customize a brand new Wellie Wisher; I'll get a secondhand doll for him)(also now I have a song stuck in my head)
- Kirsten's school outfit for me
- Scooter dog for Middle (I will be using him as my reference for a long-haired version so my mini-me can have a mini-Scamp)
- Care and Keeping of You Journal for Middle (not pictured separately, but she has already begun filling some of it out)
- Molly stickers for Middle
We'll definitely be back to AGP Orlando on future trips to the area.
I can't wait to review Kirsten Learns A Lesson in comparison with the original printing; my copy of the original is packed away in storage so that might be a while. This one has a glossary of Dakota terms used in the story (that's new!) and a more inclusive Peek into the Past section, so it seems promising!
